This was my first batch that was completed in the altered lot-o. No difference at all compared to the original. Same motion, Same temperature at the motor and barrel, same sound, same end result. Easy agates may have been a bad example. Really should throw some obsidian at it. All Bahia and Carnelian agates 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 Fins removed and holes laid out for mounting Mounted with spacers to prevent heat transfer Final locations and amount of weight per side Thanks for looking Chuck

Nice, Chuck. Was there a specific template you used for figuring out exact mounting location, supplies, and the actual "how to?" I know there is a thread floating around...is that what you used? I guess I should look for it and bookmark it.

I guess I should look for it and bookmark it. Honestly it is so easy a tutorial is not really needed. Cut off the two existing brackets. Hold the motor against the back and mark the spots for 4 holes. As far as height of the motor on the back my side shot photo does a good job of showing that. I think I mounted it a little lower then the sharpie marks in that photo to make it easier to access the nuts. 5/16 button head bolts with 3/8 nuts used as spacers between the motor and back of the lot-o. I will replace the standard 5/16 nuts with locknuts next time I get to the hardware store. With a good cutoff tool this whole thing is only a 20 minute job. Edit: The cord does not come with a plug end and is "international standard colors" so use this to wire a plug end to it. www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton-15-Amp-125-Volt-3-Wire-Plug-Orange-R51-515PV-0OR/205165505Chuck

Nice. We got a barrel (tub?) with no base at the estate we bought yesterday, since we now have 3 barrels and one base maybe I should try to duplicate one. Who sells the motor?

Beautiful rocks!! Such shine to them. Also, thanks for sharing this alteration for the lot-o motor. Company honored my warranty, but if I run into that again there are several great tips here to replacing them cheaply.
