I must have been living under a rock. I just saw that about 2019 Genie was upgraded to Genie G2 with a bigger motor and a thicker base.
In 2012, I bought my Gene for 1800. It is now 2300. Seeing how Genies have been around awhile with the 1/4 HP motor, it doesn't make a lot of sense to pay that much more for 1/2 HP. Just my opinion. But, I guess with inflation, that's not too bad.
The competition must have gotten gotten to them.
I'm ordering the maintenance kit for the pump while I still can. The new ones are different.
Does anyone know where to buy the trays and shields? I think I have to call DP. I hope not.

Cutting Edge Supply Company. I've never purchased anything from them:

Many people, myself included, get electric compressors to use when the DP air pump goes south. I used an aquarium pump for a while but recently found a compressor from a nebulizer machine that has more volume and puts more water on the wheels than the DP pump. The larger capacity aquarium pumps do well. My Titan is an old one with single pump and DP sent me rebuild parts that didn't work so I just removed the pump for less drag and use the electric compressor. As far as shlelds and trays, I don't know.
Opal posted while I was typing, I have dealt with Cutting Edge Supply and they were efficient and easy to deal with.

rockjunquie I remember reading somewhere that DP changed to the new 1/2 hp motor because the old manufacturer (Baldor, I think) would/could no longer supply the original 1/4 hp Genie motors. Waiting for corrections if needed...

Huh. Pans appear to be sold out at the Cutting Edge site. Mine are intact - but they were dingy brown when I bought the used Genie.

I have a box of used pans back in the shop in Idaho. I can also order new ones for you if you want new ones, whatever discount that DP gives me I will split it with you, each thing is a different discount according to the part number.

The 1/4 hp motor was discontinued. The newer 1/2 hp motor is slightly taller so the plastics had to be reconfigured. If you do the upkeep on the air pump it will give decades of service, clean the spitters occasionally by soaking overnight in CLR as they get plugged up with deposits in the water. The motor for the pixie was also discontinued so they had to reconfigure the pixie also.
