The sludge is the texture of cold peanut butter. Most of the time it looks like Nutella. Probably would not taste any different either. Hey now! Don't be Nutella shaming in here Poor customer service, there is nothing more irritating!! Unfortunately $1300 is too rich/pointless for me with the little cutting that I do, but I'm glad you found something that works. Cleaning oil with the paperbag & pail method is such a pain.

I still use the paper bags too. When the bottom of the saw gets too much heavies for my liking I drain the saw and run the garbage through a bag. I add new oil that I have set aside and soon I have a new set up. When you cut like you were insane, you still have to do oil changes, you just don't have to do nearly as many and don't have to do as much volume.

Thanks for the info! I keep going back and forth on this system. The price is almost what my saw cost! I recover 95% of my oil with the bag method (it takes about 2 weeks to get that last 10 % lol) So I can't justify the purchase. I had to laugh about the "interview" as they have called me every month since I bought my saw (over 2 years ago)asking me if I'm still into lapidary. I should answer the phone and tell them no I just spent $1400 on a passing fancy. I have them programmed into my phone so I can just ignore the calls (gotta give them props for persistence). On a positive note I did have to call them about some blade advice (I thought I had dished my blade and called them to order a new one and get advice for possible repair- they were very honest and straight forward with there advice and ultimately offered to replace the blade at a discount if I sent the old one back. I thanked them but kept the old blade and bought a new one at full price- the old blade was not dished in the end and I have it as a back up).

Ugh. That stinks mark. Glad you could get it working. I was unaware that you used it with blade spinning.
Local club got one to clean out all machines. It came with a pump motor not strong enough so they had to contact HP and do a dance to get something stronger. Main maintenance guy hooked his up on a contraption with wheels so he could take it to all machines to clean instead of just a fixed saw.
I have a couple machines from HP and swore I'd never buy another new from them. There's no technical guy but John Rowlands brother Sherman. They won't release Manuals for their more "sophisticated" machines for some reason (it's not like they aren't just copying someone else's work anyway).

Don't get me wrong, they pissed me off, but at least once the machine was running, it was trouble free. So far, it is one of the best investments I have made in a long time.

Mark K after having the EverClear for some time now, how are you feeling about your purchase? Are you still happy with its results? I just did my first saw cleanout and am seeing the value in such a product, haha. I have a 10 inch saw so it's not at all an option for me, but I'd still like to hear how it's working for you!

The pumps are a complete piece of shit. The first one burned up when the seal between the pump and motor went out, flooding the motor with oil. It then burned up. The second one which was a replacement lasted about 4 days before it stopped working. They accidentally sent me a second replacement and it worked half assed until it became too cold to work in the garage. In the spring I am going to find a better pump to use because the cheap chinese ones are junk. The centrifuge is still wonderful except that the seal between the body and motor leaks a little bit. All in all, I give it a D-. If the pump was quality and the seals did not leak on everything, I would give it an A+.

I thought I heard that they were having a lot of trouble with the pumps. The manufacturer kept changing them. I'd contact HP for a status.
