I received a 17 pound box of agates from Vance as the high bidder of his auction. Most of it is best used for tumbling. I cut or face polished some of the larger nodules. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/102914/package-vanceI am offering a cigar box full of agates for $10 including priority mail shipping to someone willing to tumble and post pictures of the results. Anything that I can't use I find a home for and seeing the results of the tumble would be away to indicate the value of the nodules so I can offer them at a very reasonable price.

Just got them out of the rotary. They really could use more time or some grinding but I am shutting the rotaries down for the winter. I am going to throw them in the lot o.

Thanks Ashley for volunteering. Vance said there were differing opinions on whether they were Crowley Ridge or something else. I don't tumble, but I did examine the nodules and faced polished a few with my Genie. I don't much about agates but they looked like pictures of Crowley.
When they are finished and there is interest, I will offer rough nodules here.

I can finish them. I can’t figure out the whole picture thing here, I’ll do them and ship them back.

Crowley Ridge is around where he collected these I do believe(looked at his original post).. I collect the same kind but have never called them Crowley ridge..some collectors down here in Louisiana / Mississippi will reference them as those .I think location makes a difference.. The alluvial plane that dispersed them started in Tennessee and was wide spread.kinda like thunder eggs or jasper, folks like to know localities..It might just be me,but that's my take.. Anyway..lol I have tumbled a bunch of this type of agate.. they are best done in a vibe with cushioning to help prevent chipping /cracking. Attached are a couple of pics from one of my batches. Enjoy!!
