After looking at my Raybrite stuff, the Iolox is kind of gray and powdery. The TL is really fine white powder, similar to baking soda so I think that’s what your mystery container may be! Well, it looks like you won the Identify the Mystery White Powder contest! I tried it for the polish stage in my Lot-O. Ran it for 2 days and did the clean out this morning. I would call the results polished-ish. Not a perfect polish, but pretty shiny. I think the mix might have been a little too dry because when I dumped out the barrel I saw all the small ceramic media was gathered in the bottom in a loose clump. Reloaded and am going to run for another 2 days keeping a better eye on things and see if the polish improves. I also got to try out the jar of Levigated Alumina that I mentioned in another thread. Looks like it is definitely a pre polish. Went from 400 grit SiC to the levigated alumina and the results looked about like with 1000 grit SiC. Although now that I typed this I guess it doesnt necessarily prove it is pre polish. Could be polish since I dont know how shiny a rock would be if you go directly from 400 to polish. I guess next time I'll throw a polished piece in to see if it dulls down to the pre polished look.

Glad to be of service! That TL polished better than anything else I've used (besides the cerium & flat lap combo!) BUT I also only used it in the vibe. I'll try some in my rotary and see if I still think it's so great.
Your suspected pre-polish sounds like a definite pre-polish to me; I use a 1200 aluminum oxide as pre-polish after a round of 600 grit silicon carbide. It does a great job but man it sticks in every tiny little crack and cranny.
