rmf I do not sir, it was a hodgepodge of everything in his backyard stock. I'm not sure he knew what much was tbh.. jasoninsd Yea I can see it, the stuff I had last summer that I though was wonderstone is different than this. Maybe I found the real deal this time
Oooo maybe I can tumble it after all

Check out Hickoryite as well. Sometimes the two look alike...although Hickoryite seems to take a better shine a lot of times...

Check out Hickoryite as well. Sometimes the two look alike...although Hickoryite seems to take a better shine a lot of times... The colors look good for Hickoryite.

Thanks for the location! I've got some Hickoryite tucked away somewhere out in the garage. Apparently I'm keeping it hidden for safe keeping! LOL *Kidding...I kinda know where it's at...kinda! LOL

I see someone went through Biggs. I know that weird lil shop. I didn't know Biggs was an area, it kind of makes sense after the fact....
I looked it up on the map, so it's the area after the pass of the Columbia, why Biggs?

that road that passes through grass valley heading north goes to Biggs junction right on the Columbia. Where the famous Biggs picture jasper was discovered

Rhyolite is a generic geologic name for a fine grained volcanic rock with the same make up as granite but with microscopic grain size. Hickoryite and Wonderstones are simply Lapidary names that cover a specific location or region. Typically with a specific properties like higher % quartz and takes a better polish than some other rhyolite.
