Wow - some super nice variety in those. The one 'snaggle tooth' in the beginning made me laugh - so cute! I got a handful of geodes for Christmas too, but I just hammer smashed mine. mine were just plain ole clear crystals, but nothing to scoff at - still very pretty. Thanks for sharing. May need to venture to find some like these.

The larger geodes came with a hessian (burlapy) type bag that you put them into and swing away. Really only took one swing lol. I didn't bother with the chisel because there wasn't really a need.

Sometimes gentle tapping around get a cleaner break. Apologies for the slow uploads. Injury and sickness back to back

Injury and sickness back to back Yeah - totally. I wasn't super worried about a clean break though. I think they look pretty neat all jagged. Hope you are feeling better!! I was sick all last week. Lot's of crud going around.

Here is one I didn't polish. Or more accurately, I polished one side. And it behaved oddly it shed material, and it got slightly shinier. The crystals inside got "dusty". I washed it a couple of times, but when dried, it never got better. This side is cut but unpolished. The crystals are very curious inside and forms a very thin layer, almost like bubbles on the inside. Not drusy but more reflective. The host shell is full of holes in cross section

That last one is very unique. Interior reminds me of a druzy mist, but the exterior being all pink and green is quite different.

I am doing it by hand as I don't have a lap. My routine is, 60 grit sandpaper to deal with saw marks, 80, 180, 220, 320, 600, 1200, 2000, 2500
