hplcmanBoth of these are coming along beautifully! I’m just doing one more course run with the yellow rock because I think it’s starting to fade. The mossy kinda rock needs at least 3 more course runs.

I'm about to start rotating the rocks you sent me into the QT66! I have them lined up in order of priority, and am really looking forward to seeing what lies under that white lime coating!

I’m going ahead and finishing up the Yeller rock in the lot o now. as I look really close at it, I realize that the color is just starting to fade. I’m not sure this shade of yellow will last through another run. I know once the color starts to fade, it can go fast. Yup, that is one of the fun things about rocks around here. They’re like opening presents. That’s also one of the pain in it butt things about the rocks around here. Half to tumble 20 to find one really good one. I’m hoping I can start doing my saw again soon, which will make it easier for testing rocks. Thinking of trying it this week.

Cool! I can't see the image for some reason? I tried adding it with cloudinary twice and it’s not working for some reason. I used to be able to add photos no problem. I’m on my phone, I’ll try my computer. sorry for the technical issues! 😂

Cool pic, hplcman . You just won Monday w/that rock. : ) Thanks! I don't have a lot of experience with these agates, but I think the banding on this particular one is interesting and unique. It still has a little bit of time in stage one (you can see there's a small crack and groove there on the right) before pushing off to stage 2. There are some deep pits on the back that I just have to accept, as I worry that I would disrupt the banding if I tried to get those out.

I have a couple of interesting ones that are taking forever to tumble, Seam Botswana agates. I’m almost ready to start getting caught up. Been through a rough couple of months, so I’m way behind on photos, tumbling… everything.

It's turning out nice! It exhibits some band parallax as well, which I just love to see!

I really meant To spend so much more time with this thread and trading rocks and stuff. But man… we’ve been so sick in my little household. Our 11-year-old daughter brought home a severe flu in the middle of March. Which tore through us over the course of several weeks. Then we got some new Covid strain, Which made us miserable for Another few weeks. Then We had a few days where we thought we were feeling better but no, we’re now dealing with respiratory infections now (At least the kid is OK now). We have been to the doctors so many times and been through too many drugs. We have managed to escape hospitalization at least. Needless to say, weve had to scale back our love of all thing rocks a good bit. I still owe so many thank yous to people that have sent me amazing boxes of rock and crystals. Should be back up and running a few more weeks or so. Seems optimistic but It’s got to all end at some point

Life happens and sometimes we need to drop everything to deal with it. My Mom was hospitalized (she's ok, but it was scary since she's old) and this forum and rock tumbling in general became a low priority for a while. At some point the sun comes out and you can start getting back into the things you love. Take care of yourself!
