As we did last year we are soon heading North to be vendors at the Prineville show, all RTHlings who attend please say hi. Since the Mt Hood club has their show on a new weekend, 2 weeks after the Prineville show, we have decided to do it rather than the Madras show a week later. All you west of the Cascades folks come visit at the Kliever Armory.

Thanks for the info. I hope you have a good trip. Just out of curiosity about how big is the Prineville show? About how many vendors would you guess? I see the Portland one says 30+. If I could make one this year, Portland would be the most realistic. My only day off is Sunday so it’s a little bit of a bummer these shows tend to close early on Sundays.

What would you say Rockoonz ? Prineville show is probably 60+ vendors? I guess I’ve never really taken a count. Also.. you know I’ll be there.

Just tell you’re work you’ve been dealing with explosive diarrhea and take a few extra days off and come down.

I was dealer chair for the Mt Hood show for about 6 years. If they used my old layout map for the inside of the armory there will be a little more than 60 tables 8 foot long, and they limit to max 2 tables per dealer. We are outside, where there are probably about 8 or so dealers. There was a date change this year so I really don't know who I'll see, but we had a good diversity and kept the "walmart" imported trinket resellers to a minimum. I think realrockhound is about right on Prineville, about 60 and only one rather large outdoor space for each since our RV's and trailers are right there. There are some of my closest dealer friends there, and the people who run it are fantastic. Field trips tend to be a mob, but many of the places they go to are inaccessible the rest of the year, private ranches.

and khara about the work thing, well that's a different thread, except to say I hope you find a way to get to less than 6 day weeks, that stuff is brutal over the long term.

Both of these sound like good shows. Prineville is on my to do list but I don't think this year is realistic yet. Maybe(?) I can get to Portland. And, the oddness of my schedule right now is actually a direct result of two decades of self-employed brutality. I'm actually doing better with this strange night-shift part-time restaurant and part-time still self-employed 6 day a week thing I've got going on. 16 years stuck 12-16 hours a day behind the computer were hell on my body and then industry nonsense became hell on my sanity which finally drove me to desperately take something/anything different! The fact that I'm even entertaining the thought to get to a distant rock show is a huge improvement. So, thanks again for the reminder post! Good luck with all your planning and packing that you must be in the middle of.

But I can easily make a day trip out of it. Then I desperately need to get back and slab up some rocks to send out to a few members here.

Got an armory full of dealers and exhibits. I think there's an auction Sunday, might be some good stuff. Several dealers I have never met before, with some interesting materials. We are outside, next to the big door. If I have enough signal to tether phone to laptop tomorrow I will have a pic or two.

After also reading the flyer, seems the auction is Saturday evening. And it looks like a rock saw will be following me home, and not a little one.
