Okay, so a blue moon is the second full moon of the month, but that's what I'm calling this stone. It's a piece of Sodalite I got in the box of rocks from Rhodescabbin. It wasn't big enough to make a regular cab out of, but it makes a nice crescent moon. I'll either put a bell cap on it or try drilling a hole through the side and work it from there. Thanks for looking, Ed

Sweet, I like it!! Bell cap would look cool, you'd have to use a small one because of the sharpness of the points I think.

OMG that's stunning, you should have it wrapped instead of using a bell cap. I know it was hard doing the odd shape but it can be done, you should give it a try. Man that's got beautiful color.

That is a cool shape and a very nicely finished stone. I was just looking at it trying to visualize different mounts.

Thanks folks. Cher, are you volunteering to wrap this? Just kidding. It would look good wrapped in silver, but not by me.

I like it!
Does that sodalite have the planar flash to it when you view it at the right angle?

Lcars - is that what you call it? Planar Flash? I have some Sodalite from the Rock Shed that has that nice reflective quality that looks like it's just beneath the surface...I been wondering what it might be called.....

Thanks again guys. LCARS, not sure what you mean about a planar flash, but it doesn't have any type of flash at all, so I guess the answer would be no. Cher, it's about 2" long. Here you go Robert, both side views.

Stoner
You continue to amaze with your shapes and freeforms.
"Blue Moon" is quite appropriate. You did it again AAA+++

I wrapped a rock once that was shaped like a pickle. Yes, it was green too but much smaller than that, still the shape was similar. *thinking*
