These are all beautiful slabs. The reason people love Crazy Lace is because it is a hot mess.

I found a mine called Juanita in new mexico but found no lace, and a sao pedro place that might have something to do with crazy lace. So if you were serious, can you tell me more please? If you were joking and throwing out Spanish names because Crazy Lace is from OLD mexico - you're going to get it mister..... those pistols are coming out and I'm bopping you on the noggin.

cabby - I think because you're outside working most of the time (at least in photos) you were able to see how pretty crazy lace can be right away. So far I've been sorting it into bins of just crazy lace. This was the first time I took it outside. It was definitely eye opening! chris1956 - Do you think it is different than what's available today? I'll admit, the past few days were the first time I've dug into crazy lace a bit so I'm not at all familiar with the market. I've never been to a store or a show so I have no clue. hummingbirdstones - I didn't know that - so the messier the better? I wonder if that's because when you're creating a cab you often expect it to be the centerpiece, so to speak. I also wonder if you made like a bracelet out of multiple cabs, if you would go for less busy or more solid colors. I know little about jewelry and wearing stones, but I imagine the red ones would be popular. They do catch the eye.

I'm calling the cops! Just kidding, that's on me for being a noob and too literal. I'm laughing at myself now. Good god, I'll get it one day. Seriously, this kind of stuff is the lumps I have to take in order to stop being a fool. Sheesh. But, I will now officially adopt you as my younger brother. You have to be, because only a brother would drive me bananas like you do. My family is growing. Next time I send you something, I'll make sure you get some Juanita.. which kind did you want?

tribeunited don’t worry, I googled Pedro plume as well 😆 was pretty sure he was joking but juuuuust in case… didn’t bother with any more searches because I figured it out quickly! It’s annoying how often realrockhound makes me Google weird things.

I bought and tumbled some just after I started polishing rocks. There were so many cracks in the stuff, I thought they must have used dynamite to get it out of the ground. I haven't done anything with crazy lace since then because every time I see some I think CRACKS. I think the cracks come with the material. It seemed to me that your slabs have way more and brighter colors than what I remember seeing in stuff for sale but maybe I just haven't been paying attention (because of the CRACKS) or looking at good enough material.

I apologize. I’ll tone down the joking. I figured you guys knew I was joking with some of the wacky names. I guess my dad jokes are too powerful 😂

Ps. I still can't quite figure out the Pedro Plume I was just being dumb. Pedro plume just rolls off the tongue nicely. But I was referring to the pieces that have the plume looking inclusions in them. The Juanita name though… I hope you all got the joke. Gave me quite the chuckle 😂

realrockhound - Please don't change. We like you how you are. It's my bad for going down that rabbit hole before asking you. I didn't because I wanted to figure it out and not bother you with it. Pedro Plume does roll of the tongue nicely - I really wanted to find it! chris1956 - I completely agree on the crazy lace fractures. I had several today that no matter how I looked at them - I couldn't see anything but tumbling potential. Sure, the fractures were healed, but the pattern was jacked up and fugg because of them. I tried seeing cabs in them and I couldn't - too ugly. I'm going to start a "chucking at tweeker" pile so I can be a realrockhound too. Everyone - I'm so glad it wasn't just me on the googling....you made it better.

Why go for solid colors when you have all those wonderful plumes to play with?
