I really enjoyed the picture trip showing the various locations you visited. The one that brought back memories was the Stuckey's sign and the pecan rolls. I think most of these that we visited in Fl. disappeared.

Thanks for taking us with you. I’ve never been to that part of the country. Pictures could never do it justice. It's really beautiful up there.

Remember the road signs? Just about as bad as South of the Border.

I know this thread was a pain to create...but I enjoyed the show so much! Thanks for taking us along for the ride...and pit stops!
I'm still sitting here saying "lobsta" and "suppa" out loud...and probably will be all evening...much to the chagrin of my wife! LOL

It's a shame the accent is going away. My mom still had the accent when I was a kid. She would say, "Bring in the dug." Dug was dog, of course. My friends didn't understand her half the time. Suppa was the big afternoon meal. My grampy ate corn flakes every single morning and then go off to work. He'd come home at around lunch time for his big meal. A healthy way to eat, really.

I grew up on the outskirts of the town...so I've always been a country boy at heart. My wife's family is ALL farmers and ranchers. When I was growing up younger, my family treated supper and dinner as synonymous. It wasn't until I married my wife that I learned dinner was actually lunch to all of them...not supper! LOL (Or should I say suppa! LOL)

I always loved those ridiculous signs, as a kid going down to FL from NY, it meant we were finally getting here, already!

The signs for this one, where they still existed at all, were faded and peeling. It's pretty far north, too, in Maryland or maybe Virginia just off the Eastern Shore. The last time I went to Georgia, the South of the Border signs were alive and kickin'.
