You have to get some material from Holt Canyon! Agreed! Definitely need to get some more, most of mine is of the red/orange varieties. I heard at the latest rock show, the whole Holt Canyon area is now under claim?!

Welcome to the forum from South Dakota! Those Snowflake Obsidian pieces are SICK! Thanks and agreed! I definitely have a thing for the shiny volcanic glass! Trying to find some snowflake obsidian chunks big enough for a sphere... the hunt continues!

Welcome form Washington state. I like the jasper in the bottom right photo, nice stuff there. And love your obsidian, nice mahogany and well rounded and smooth.

Welcome to the forum from South Dakota! Those Snowflake Obsidian pieces are SICK! I was trying to figure out what jasoninsd was talking about until I saw the link and followed it. Oh boy those are nice chunks of obsidian! I've got a big (couple of fists put together) size mahogany obsidian I won in a raffle that's collecting dust in the garage right now. This makes me want to give it a whirl. - Rob

Posting some updates on the polishing of the obsidian, 5 days in a vibe tumbler and think maybe they need another day or two... some are a bit hazy still. Definitely a more difficult batch for a beginner, on to some jasper (easier, hopefully) next!!!
