Hi,
I have some Agate slices that I want to make into pendants.
Can someone please tell me how to drill a hole through it for a jump ring without chips or breakout on the back?
I have tried sticking masking tape on but no real success.
Thanks

I have tried Ron's method and it works great! I suggest you try it on a thin test piece first to get a feel for it.

Hi Talguyuk, I have used the following method sucessfully.
Stick your pendant /slice on to a wall tile with ordanary tile cement (not waterproof)
Dry for 48 hrs
put tile in a plastic container so you can cover with water
Drill /grind hole with many up and down movements (it is grinding and needs coolant as well as a clean supply of waterALL the time )
If you leave the stone /tile in water for more than 1/2 hour the tile cement will come soft and is easly removed. It is a slow job take you time and also dont put to much pressure on on the drill
Earlier on in this section someone had a article on this job of drilling holes(I have brought this article forward for you)
