So...here's part 2 Took it down to the car wash and used the pressure sprayer to remove all the gunk. Then I used a wire wheel on my 4.5" grinder to remove rust and paint. Here's the jig...pretty nasty huh? Now the fun part...painting! I used Rustoleum primer and blue metal flake.. The guide rails are taped up... Here it is reassembled after paint.... I still need to redo the wiring harness and finish cleaning up the motor... Does anyone know where I can find a replacement for the gear motor?? Thanks for lookin! Dan

Holy smokes, that doesn't look anything like the part one pics - are you sure you didn't just buy a new one to fool us?!

LOL...thanks Tweetie. I forgot to mention that the jig has a Sears Roebuck tag on it...must have come from an old catalogue. Maybe ...100 years ago! LOL....

Good looking job Dan, I assume the gearmotor that you are looking for is for the feed drive. I don't know what kind of RPM's you need to turn but so help me that gearmotor looks just like the rotisserie motor that was on an old barbecue we used to have. As I remember it was very slow and had lots of torque. You might check it out. You might also check out the Surplus Center www.surpluscenter.com they have some low RPM - 110 V gearmotor. Ron

Thanks for the encouragement Gents! I need it!
OldHickory - Doesn't surprise me that the motor probably came from a rotisserie grill but I would never have thought of that. That's another peice of the puzzle. I bought this thing w/out really understading what I was getting into but I'll just keep working at it untill it's done.
Thanks for the link and info man!!

Thanks for sharing this info and photos Blarney. NIce job!!! I use a rotisserie motor too for my speed control. The only problem is this one can do a 180 on ya if there too much force to stop the control. BUt i think i got the hang of it now, and im sure you can get them so they dont have this auto return set.

Hey John - Thanks..Yea I feel the same way about it..she'll give me some nice slabs when I'm finished and I'll know 'er inside and out. It will hold a 12" blade so I'll finally be able to cut some of the larger material I've been holding onto. I'll post more pics when she's finished.

John - It's mostly finished. I still need a blade and will probably order it tomorrow. I made a Lexan (Plexiglass) hood for it held together with aluminum angle bar...looks pretty sweet! I'll take a few pictures and post 'em tonight.
Thanks for asking buddy! Dan
