Being new to all this, you all have me sitting over here just busting a gut over all this. I at least understand why you would want to lick or get the stones wet at least, but this is all still too funny.

I try not to lick and that poo that Don's holding... is that fresh? I can almost see the steam rising.... yuck! It's quite petrified, but I agree it does look disturbingly "fresh". That's why I bought it of course. -Don

Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou! I am new to the whole rock thing but quickly took to licking. It was nice to be able to read this and show my wife..."See, I'm not the only one licking rocks. All the cool kids are doing it!" But I will take a stand and not lick anything that is A) Hot enough to BBQ something on or B) Looks creepy.
I did have to remind my self to be careful when I was collecting agates on Saturday. They were on the edge of a dam that is filled with all of th e water and other...stuff that had been washed out of a piggery not 50m away. The smell and accompanying dry wreching were a helpful reminder.
Think before you lick my friends!

My therapist says I am doing rather well though....I can give out her number.....lol too funny y'all.....I am so glad to see that Betty and I are not the only ones who lick rocks Steve & Betty P.S. DON'T EAT YELLOW SNOW....it is not a lemon snow cone. (kids don't try this at home..we are highly trained professionals) once again..just ask my therapist

Ewww Don, are you serious? (not about licking but ... )
LOL lonewolf, that must have really hurt. You need a squirt bottle like I use, it's a lab bottle with the bent nozzle so it sprays right where you want it too.

too funny! I'm a caver and some of my friends were carrying a new caver through a cave that is heavily laden with sea bisquit fossils. One was just laying on the floor, somehow liberated from the limestone rock. One of the cavers replied "look, a cave cookie" The new caver said "nuh cant be!" So he tried to bite it to find out. He was satisfied, now that it was in fact, not a cave cookie. ;D

LOL Kevin - We had a guy on one of our trips try to take out cave pearls, thinking they were really pearls.

I hope a cave oyster isn't like a "mountain oyster."

OMG.. Coprolite! Now I know what that stuff is I found in the bottom of a can of tumbled rocks from a yard sale! This thread is almost as funny as watching a pretty close relative kiss a sucker when bombed ,, Hmm, so a Lickmaster can tell what kind of rock it is from taste?

Think I'll stick to spitting or spraying.
