Hey Thanman I can juggle too. I've never gotten past 3 though. 4 is soooo tough. Of course I learned from a book, Juggling For The Klutz, which may explain some of my problems.
KD, that's a beautiful yard. Any fish in that there stream? Fishing is one of my other hobbies.

What a fun idea! OK, I'm pretty boring. I would love to travel, no $$. So I read. Pretty much anything, about anything. I know lots and lots of useless trivia. I can find mushrooms and chokecherries and native plants, and can use them for food, medicine, or whatever. I have guided Cub & Boy Scouts around poison ivy, while attaining the Merit Badge for orienteering. That was tough, I had to learn it first! Give me a topo map, I can do it!
I can't sing nor play most instruments, my sister got all that talent. But I sure like to listen! Thanks, Condor! I can drive, but have never raced, altho I think it would be great fun. Never had a ticket, either. Taught my boys to drive, and so far, they have not had any tickets, either. Nor any car accidents. Knock on wood! One is nearly 21, the other nearly 17. I taught them to drive on really nasty country roads and on city freeways. Yep, I have nerves of frazzled steel. But they can find their way around anywhere!
And, I was a juggling coach. No sh*t! I can't juggle, myself, but I had 6 young men who did not know that stuff was impossible. By the time they hit 7th grade, 2 could juggle 5 balls. All of them could also pass juggle balls, rings, pins AND flaming torches, without dropping, for at least 2 minutes, which doesn't seem very long until you try to juggle 3 balls for 2 minutes without dropping. At one point, we did a 5-man pass with the pins, plus some back-to-front passing. And they lost out to little 6-year old very, very cute tap dancers with lolipops at the state Lions talent contest. Define talent! Any jugglers know what I mean....Then, they hit Jr. High, and were 'too cool' to perform. Some have picked it up again, now that they are older. Surprisingly, they DID pick it up pretty darn quick, after 5 years. The muscles remember, I guess. I still remember coaching them in the park, and shouting "Hold your balls!". We never thought a thing about that, until another mother was there watching practice. She had to walk away, so the boys, who were holding their balls and looking at me attentively, didn't see her laughing her a** off.
Personally, I love to cook. I love cookbooks, and trying new things. (My poor family!) If you ever need a recipe for anything, I probably have it. I guess my specialities are soups and cheesecakes.
And reading.... and learning about anything. Especially anything scientific, or a little scientifically weird. That's why I love this place!

Shannon, Thanks for starting this thread! It's fun to see all the hobbies that others have. Harlies, HotRods, flying and autocross....too expensive for me. Fun though, and I've always wanted to own a HotRod! Not many mushrooms in Utah; although when I lived in Oregon, I was amazed at how many people dig for mushrooms and make $$. Juggling, glass bead making, and guitar picking...not coordinated enough! Condor, no ashame there my friend. Enjoyed the singing and playing. Fresh Bone collecting Shannon...a little eerie! Although when we used to bird hunt (ducks, pheasants, geese) I used to keep the wings and feet and thumbtack them all over my walls in my bedroom. My brother wasn't to fond of my interest, seeing he had to share a room with me, and thank goodness I grew out of the oddity. My main passion is of course ROCKS! My other passion is exploring old mines and ghost towns. My oldest brother and I have explored so much area, and actually published a book last March which has over 16 years of research. A small town I grew up in Utah, had some mining history from about 1890-1910. This was small mining, and mining that has no history written of it. We never had a book in our minds, but after many people pushed us into writing our finds and research into a book...we decided to. We sometimes stumble on older history which we enjoy as well....especially if it involves the Spanish exploring our area. Spanish Marker Fly Fishing is another one of my inetests. This is floating down the Green River last summer. And of course, my two daughters, which are outgrowing spending time with "dad" are a big passion! They'd much rather be hanging out with friends, not looking for rocks. Although, they do enjoy fishing with me, taking the fish off the fly, and wading up the streams. Hopefully I didn't post to many pics. Steve

LOL - how much did you have to pay your daughters for that last pic? Hmmm, other interests... My mother always wanted to be a home ec teacher and my father wanted a boy. I became their solutions to filling the void. I quilt, needlepoint/cross stitch, bake, & sew because of my mother. I hunt, fish, camp, and go 4-wheeling because of my father. Okay, I don't hunt. I target practice four or five times a year and then wander around the hillside during hunting season with a gun hanging on my back looking for game that we never see. But that's a different story completely!

This is a cool thread!! My wintertime hobby is snowmobiling, we take several trips during the year to different places, and see areas most people never get to see. Here are a few pictures from a trip we made last year into Uncle Tom's Cabin which is right on the edge of the wilderness area, its about a 50 mile ride in and the weather was -20 most of the time we were in there, but we had a ball!! Here is a picture of our group on the way in (that white blob is a snowball just before it hit the camera person) My daughter is pulling the fuel sled This was a creek crossing gone bad, you can't stop when its that cold if you are in the water because the track will freeze up solid and wont turn..........OOPS!! My daughter says, we finally made it dad, now take a picture of me!! What a ham! These stairs going upstairs are made from timbers from an old logging mill that supplied a mine up the canyon and a tree that got bent like that from continuous avalanche hits One of the old mine shafts Im getting ready to make a creek crossing Me taking a break on my sled Come ride with me sometime............Tony

Ah man, Catmandewe, I love those pictures. Wish I could do that kind of stuff, but out here in the desert, it's kinda hard to do.

I can knit a mean sock. Also spin, sew, dye wool, and process silk. Occasionally raise wild silk moths, too. I bike. The kind of bike without a motor, that is. Oh, correction. I AM the motor! In the summer, I probably ride about 100-125 miles a week. I can get about 20 miles per poptart. I also play tennis, about 5-6 hours a week. Fun thread!

He said Coca Cola and Pringles is bike fuel. And concentrated Gatorade mix. Hard to keep enough sugar going in. Lost weight every day he biked.

My brother, husband (boyfriend at the time) and son hiked the Appalachian Trail. Same thing- found it hard to consume enough calories. They all lost weight, but were never more fit. They did mac and cheese with tuna just abt every day. It's hard to carry enough food, too.
