Jack, I feel your pain man! I'm thinking about putting my coveralls on and cutting a few rocks myself. That Amazonite and Mahogany look really nice. I haven;t shopped any pet stores here yet...I don't want to much either. I'd end up coming back with a new member of our Family...don't need anymore pets yet...although my kids and wife would beg to differ. Steve

Nice batch of slabs. I always like seeing the local finds. The spiderwebbing in your local jasper is pretty neat! Shoot, our aquarium shops just have old lava rocks....Mel

Wow no fair, you have a great aquarium shop too. Don't tell them what you're doing with the rocks, they'll raise the price on them.
Those are way cool Jack, that amazonite is going to be gorgeous.

Jack, Randy and all you pet rock people. Here's a question for you! OK, so you got great rocks from the pet/fish store. Have you ever brought any of your finished pieces back to the store(s)? If so, please DO TELL! If not, please do tell why not?
Just curious. Thanks for the pix!

Those look great! I love the obsidian, especially. Being an avid fishkeeper, I'm in pet stores all the time. I have found a few decent rocks there. Was in one yesterday that had BIG hunks of quartz geode full of druzy.

Nice slabs John. I like the aquarium slab. I have checked every one of these within a 25 mile radius of home and haven't found one decent rock. Seems every aquarium around here buys there 3 different types of rocks from the same place. LOL

H Bikerandy, Good to hear im not the only one cking out the Aquatic stores, I find the price is good also. jack yorkshire UK I haven't always found that to be the case, but there are certainly good deals to be had. That quartz druzy I found last weekend was expensive in my opinion...$5.50/lb. I'm happy if I can find something decent in the $1-$2/lb range at the pet store, though.
