Oooh, cool pics Rich!! That mountain lion has some winter coat on him, and he looks meeeaaaan! The pic of the eagle and the raven is awesome. Have to say, it's not just ravens that have messages...
Anyhoo, everytime I see your thread title, I always read it as 'Little Shop of Horrors' - must be leftover images from your sawed off fake fingers when you got your saw! ewww!!

Roxy...the rest of the bald eagle story was...with that raven sitting beside the Bald eagle..the ravens mate came over and landed a few branches above the eagle...and started hoping down..until he was one branch above the eagle..he waited a few seconds..when the eagle did not leave..he actually hopped down onto the eagles shoulders..TRUE STORY..I swear the eagle sat there for a few seconds with the raven on its shoulders..then the eagle launched himself off the tree...and as they both went airborne...the eagle seperated from the raven..and flew off with both ravens on his tail..you are right about them protecting..this morning when the Mountain Lion sat up...the raven flew over and landed on the tree right in front of the lion about 10 ft above him..and started squawking...that alerted the turkeys who were on the other side of the house..so yes..I pay attention to the ravens all the time..sometimes when I go hiking up the creek they will follow for awhile..I always think they are keeping an eye on me...later..Rich

After 72 hours of pure Madness and chaos with hammers and drills and saws and tools I never knew existed.. Not to mention the 6 Dart Games (5 of which I skunked them) 2 sleepless nights, 3 slivers , 1 blister, 4 broken nails and, 1 rock hunt it's not completely finished.. but enough to show you guys..
This paragraph is completely fictional. She NEVER skunked me, she won 5 out of 6 games but she never skunked me.
Other than the one piece of preforated drywall, (due to excessive drill holes) I think it looks pretty good. You forgot to mention how we acquired the materials for your little rock shop. Back when Roxy first moved out here, there was a home being built across the dirt road from Roxy's house. When they had about finished building the house they brought in a huge dumpster and threw all their wood scraps, concrete, and other interesting stuff away. Well, after it got dark outside, Roxy and I put on our body armor and tackled the dumpster. We must of made 15 trips back and forth across the road dragging as much wood as we could back to her house now here we are 4 years later finally using some of it.

LOL stones I just reread what you said.. omg.. yeah that would be a short story for sure!! lol.. crazy.. ;D And Wolf.. It already needs a bit more cleaning and some more organizing hours to be put into it before I'll even be close to being satisfied enough to make it dirty.. lol..but so far already got the pile thing starting to happen.. not sure how it started or where it began but dang it I hate that when it happens.. and yeah I'll have more room to play.. more than I did last time for sure.. And I did skunk her 5 of the 6.. would of been a shut out.. but My hand was starting to cramp from my secret stance move that hits the Bull every time. LOL... Jks.. (I let her win that one so not to ruin her diminishing ego) LOL.. Oh wait someone said this to me when I was whinning about the 2 point difference... .. " doesn't matter by how much I beat you by.. the point is.. I BEAT YOU" uh huh.. remember that Jaaaamie.. lol ;D DA WINNER!!! ;D

Great animal pics Southfork. I see lion sign a lot around the ranch but have yet to get a look at one there. Only seen them twice in my life in the wild and never had a chance for a picture that good. Beautiful cat and a nice eagle too. I'm literally hopping from foot to foot waiting for the new young Bald Eagle we're supposed to be getting real soon at the Raptor Center. I really love the Baldies!.....Mel

Hey Mel..I used to volunteer at a couple of wild life centers back in MA...I like Great Horned Owls..Goshawks..but spent a lot of time working with injured crows...that is why I like the ravens out here in Cali...I have been bit by everything under the sun...getting bit..footed...sprayed...quilled...I was good at taking whatever they had to offer...lol...It was great fun..now I spend lots of time with the wild kids at my house...I am a mile from any neighbor...so I indulge myself by feeding all the local wild ones...Rich

SO what do you feed the mountain lion? You probably don't have any extra sheep lying around and I'm guessing it would cost a small fortune to keep that boy fed. There are two lions on my Mom and Dad's mountain and they started a collection to pay for the neighbors sheep that come up missing so he won't hire someone to hunt them down. She also said that there are plenty of deer on the mountain to help keep them fed.

We had one that used to stalk our pups.... and the new born calves.. on the guys farm next to us.. poor things.. ... I hear they have a 100mile radius as their stompin grounds true? either way.. I wouldn't go feeding that fella .. unless you plan on being a snack afterwards.. lol

I do not feed the cat...at least not directly..over the last 3 yrs..several of the deer who come by have been hit by a cat..but survived with some ugly...massive wounds..of the 20 or so regular deer..only one female has disappeared ( and could be a cat attack ? )all the others who I lost 7 males...all shot by hunters.......but the cat could be feeding on squirrels...I have 20 or 30 greys in the winter...and maybe 50 ground squirrels in the other 3 seasons...so between..quail..turkey..squirrels and an occaisional deer..I am sure he eats well when his rounds make it to my propertry...I only want to see him from a distance...nothing up close and personal ...if you get my drift...lol..ofcourse...I have lots of bears here...in the other 3 seasons..which I do not feed either...and I do not know how the cat and bears interact for territories....Rich
