Roger: I use a 10" bull wheel with a wool carpet on the face. I use cerium oxide as a polish compound. The wheel rotates at about 600rpm, although I have never measured it.
Adrian: Like I said above I use a high speed dry grinder. I remove the saw marks with a 60 grit floor sanding pad, then I do a 220 grit pad to get a fairly decent sanding finish. After the 220 grit I go to a 600 grit sanding pad. I then finish on the dry grinder with a 400 grit sanding pad that is used and probably worn down to about 1200 grit. This gives me a fairly nice pre polish. As stated above I then finish with cerium oxide on a wool carpet pad on the bull wheel. I will have to think about the tutorial. ie: putting it together and the actual steps. Stay tuned.
