I looks like fresh salmon or tuna with its skin still on. Hmmmmmm....sushi... Nice finds, Jamie. No idea what its name is. "Tuna Jasper" maybe? Mike

Wow Jamie, I'm sure glad you found your way back, must have been a bit scary when you were lost. Those are really beautiful, I have no idea but I really like it.

If that's what it takes to find good looking rock , I guess I am just plain out of luck. I have never been lost. I was confused once for several days but, in my many wanderings I never noticed anything that looked like THAT !!!

Well DD I'm glad you got found! I hope you weren't lost alone. Very beautiful rock you found. I'm anxious to see how it works up. If it works good and you decide to sell any, let me know!

Jamie, you should get lost and find cool rocks more often. That stuff is drop dead gorgeous, especially the red, black and pink ones. Never seen anything like it before....Mel

Thats exactly what Ed said, looks like salmon. Yes Maryann, lots of big pieces. I am going to cut some cabs right now. Will take pictures when I'm done. Getting lost really sucked, especially after it got dark, I had no idea which direction I was going. I'd have to get off of the bike to move boulders that were too big to go over the top of and I kept thinking a mountain lion was going to pounce on me because I was right up against a cliff so every time I had to get off the bike...........I'd start growling, I thought that might scare away any hungry animals that were in the area. (Yeah right!) This is my mean growl, Grrrrrweeerrrrwweeerr. When I did finally find a gate that wasn't locked and got through it, I was across from the Lake pleasant turn off. We had parked and started our journey at the south end of those mountains off of the 303 and jomax rd. Lake Pleasant is as far north as you could get. I must of looked pretty pathetic because someone finally stopped and let me use their cell phone so I could call Rodney only by then, he was back in the middle of the desert looking for me. It was a long day for sure. Unfortunately, the path I took was definitely the road less traveled, not sure it was even a road.

Jamie, quartz or jasper - I mean is it micro-crystalline? Looks like really neat pattern. This looks better than the Crayola Jasper.

Ack - that's a bit more of an adventure than I was imagining, Jamie. The stone does work up nicely!

OMGosh! You were alone! Oh Jamie, I'm so glad you got found! Sure sounds like an adventure. I think next time I'd bark instead of growl, those cats are afraid of dogs and your growl might be misinterpeted as a mating call, LOL. I'm glad you are safely home. Tonja

That's some really cool stuff!! Hopefully you brought back a truck-load. I got lost in Japan once. I was going to Sasebo and somehow ended up in Fukuoka. No rocks. ;D

LOL Karen, by the end of the night my voice was shot. Its amazing how much more you can hear when you are alone. I do much better when somebody is there to watch my back. Randy, couldn't bring home a truck load but I brought home a quad load. So tell me about your avatar, who's kid is getting popped in the melon by the flying ball?
