I recently read that jade loves mineral oil.Apply with a toothbrush and wipe off excess -about once a month. The more that soaks in,the more lustrous it gets.I'm thinking low heat might help too.Comments welcome!Mike.

Mike, I don't know if good jade will soak up oil. I was at Jade Cove and had to pay to park in the picnic area so decided to eat lunch at one of the tables. There were several pieces of jade soaked in oil on the table. It was all very fiberous and poor quality. I'm guessing someone oiled up their finds to see what they could pass off as good quality and sell at local shops or Jade Festival show. I'm thinking good quality jade would be too dense to soak up oil.

John:that's probably right.AsI'm sure you know,Lakers are often oiled. I have read that is acceptable industry practice to use bee's wax on jade.Mike.
