Nice project! What is the year and make? I love the old trucks. The first car I ever learned standard shifting was an old truck with shift on the steering wheel column. What memories! Your garage floor is looks great also.

Cool! you should give pointers to my dad, he's been working on a little 1973 MG for years now - he keeps getting sidetracked by other projects... (I think I take after him in that department....)
He's been building a remote controlled "Herc" from scratch now for about 28 years! started in 1980! (the wingspan on this monster is about 13 feet! - it'll never take off - he "tinkers" with it!

Thanks y'all! Jack, the back is going to be white, the inside is going to be a black spray-in bedliner on the sides and I haven't decided on the bed floor yet, either wood or diamond-plate polished stainless steel, or maybe even checkerboard tile like the garage floor.

So, will this be a show truck, or will it get to go on rockhunts and get real dirty?

Daniel- It's going to be a weekend driver, a little dirt never hurts anything. Larry- It's already drivable. There's a ZZ-3 under the hood, it was a 350 horsepower crate engine before I installed a bigger camshaft and port matched the heads. Now my biggest issue is traction.

Traction on a P/U is a tough one...I assume it has a leaf type set up and horrible weight distribution...you might want to think traction bars to keep the rear from wanting to wrap up and bigger tires wouldn't hurt either...in any event I'm sure you'll figure it out...looks sweet!!...Larry

Looking good Randy. A nice walnut or birdseye maple with the strips of metal chromed would look nice! Oh, and for traction, load the bed with your stash of rocks!

Larry- No traction bars needed for these trucks, this one's a Chevy. Most of the Chevys had trailing arm suspension with coil springs (like this one), while the GMCs had the leafs. I just need to add posi-traction, better tires, and add a little more weight to the back. A box of rocks might do the trick. ;D

Sorry, my mind just keeps going back to your comment about the bed. What a choice! I have never seen anything with the checkerboard, so that's my vote (not that you're taking votes, LOL). You do amazing work! Thanks for the amazing pix! (Darlin!) Had to get that in there. K

I saw a checkerboard bed a few years ago, it looked really cool. There was a polished aluminum fuel cell back there too. The truck was a stepside as well, with an 8:71 blower sticking through the hood. It was awesome!!
