I never know where to post some of my jewelery so if this is the wrong place,,tough!!! ;D This is a pendant I made from a rock I found in Vermont last year.I have no idea what it is other then it's pretty soft. The slab the pendant is sitting on is the same material dry. These are pendants and earrings I made. You may have seen some of these before. Some are wrapped and others are soldered. My first fire agate cab,,, Please forgive the dust!!!!! That's it! connrock

Beautiful pendants, Tom!
While I figured out about the link between the stones in the midle and the one in the base (I even thought to do something like that), you lost me when it comes to the link between the middle and the upper stones. It seems to be a wire in between, which I don't know how you dealt with.
There are also some other beautiful pendants that deserve more than a group photo. I like especially the triangles (tiger eye and lace). The fire agate is a beauty, you don't have to apollogize about the dust. The magnification is huge so the dust must be invisible in real.

Beautiful work, I would like to know how you did that first link as well, did you cross the wire between the cabs.

I wish I could click on each item to get a closer look. That is a really beautiful pendant and very creative. You must have put a lot of time into that one. That Tigereye with the x in the middle is cool.
The colors in that Fire Agate are amazing.

Hi ,
Nice batch you got there Tom, I like the first cross LH side and the Amy sage, as others have said a closer look would be good
The difference in the polishing of that triple stone and the cut original is amazing.
Thanks for showing

When I first imagined this pendant in my mind there was a blank spot in that split second that you see something in your mind but I couldn't figure out what it was until I started to draw it out on paper. I liked the "form" of the pendant but it would be impossible to do unless I crossed the wires some where. I tried it and it looked terrible but then came the dawn!!! I'll let the below diagram tell the rest of the "thought"! As I was making this pendant I KNEW there would be someone who was trying to figure out how I did it! It drove me up the wall for a while too!!! ;D Adrian's idea of cutting the slit in the piece opens up a whole new world of designs!! THANKS ADRIAN!!!!! ;D ;D ;D connrock

I got myself into another pickle when I had that "design thought" for the criss cross tiger eye pendant. I was surprised that no one asked about how I did it!! Here is how I solved the problem. The stone is ground concave top to bottom on it's face so the wire can "choke" it and hold it in place. connrock

I REALLY HATE taking photo's especially of pieces I've done a while back. If I don't take them as soon as I finish a piece they kind of just sit there until someone asks me to give it to them as a gift but,,,,
If you REALLY want close-ups of a particular piece just ask and I'll do it just cuz you folks are soooooooooooooooooooo great!!!

Thank you for the explanations, Tom! I am glad to see that my idea was brought by you on a higher step! I still don't get it: once you solder the wires that form the contour of the middle stone, how are you able to insert that stone in the already solderd triangle? Forcing it a bit? If so, is the stone secure? Adrian PS. The wire ear-rings shaped as bells are SO cute!

Wow Tom that necklace is a knockout. Great job on it. Looks like it took a bit of work. Very original design.

Adrian, If you'll notice the words "Butt bottom wire together here" in the diagram it will explain itself. This joint is not soldered but MUST fit perfectly so no one can tell it's not soldered. One way to do this is to cut the square wires on an angle like this,,, looking down from the top of the wire ----/ /---- The sharper the angle is the better it fits and looks but you MUST be careful not to file or sand the angles too much. I hope this answers your question and if not I will explain it better for you! ;D

Wow! I'd be proud to wear any one of those pieces.
I am so looking forward to the day when I can even begin to think about creating something that lovely.
Most excellent.
