Well, since we now have a "Visitors Kits and Setups" section, I though it would be appropriate to show you all mine. It's not the most glamorous setup in the world but it's extremely effective. (Letf to right) Thumblers Model T-2, Thumblers Model T-1 and 2 Thumblers Model B tumblers: Here are some pictures of my ever so clean bedroom: Here is a little display of agates and other stuff: Here is some Orland jasper waiting in line to get tumbled Hope you enjoyed the tour! Thanks for looking, James

Wonderful!!! How did you find a way to keep your bedroom so neat? I like your approach, your tools get the seat favoured for the honoured guest. My tumbler is under my jewelers bench. Just try using a foredom and soldering with the tumbler rolling. I tell her it is like the brook near where we lived back in Oregon. This week, we are listing for sale and we found the kitchen sink for the first time. We also found out the kitchen is plumbed for an icemaker in the freezer!!! My wife is almost over it. Fortunately she has been so busy learning the business she hasn't caught up yet. When we set up again I am going to have to be more organized. My first wife put up with an aircraft in the living room with the engine on a bench I built in the kitchen. The aircompressor was in the linen closet. We ate under the horizontal stabilizer. I keep telling my wife, they are only rocks. We can move them......tomorrow.

My girlfirend absolutely hates my room. She'll come over and spend an hour or more cleaning it up only to find it a complete reck the next day. ;D I'd have it no other way... It's not comfortable when it's too clean.

well i'm feeling better that i've set-up my stuff in the "formal" dining room. guess that also clears up how often we'll be having "formal" guests over to eat. i also don't know over time what the grit will do to that light colored carpet but i wanted ceramic anyway.
that new shop my husband's been wanting is starting to look like a possibility but now we'll fight over it and how it's set up...

Greetings All, Very nice pictures James, I applaud your taste in interior decorating. I thought I saw a strip of yellow tape on one of the plastic bags of rocks in the bedroom picture, might that be some blue aventurine, hummm? And the jasper rough looks ever so familiar to me, I guess it's because I got some from you. It's next in line for the coarse grind, as soon as I get some more in that is. WilliamC

William, I knew that you'd see that yellow tape strip. And as a matter of fact, it is indeed that very, very nice blue aventurine you traded with me. I can' wait to tumble it. As you can see though, there are a lot of other rocks waiting in line too. I think I need more tumblers. I look forward to seeing how that jasper turns out. Make sure you grind it down real good in the 80 grit.

I added a new member to my family of tumblers. A second model B. All I need now is that 65 lb tumbler that I've wanted for some time now. ;D

Very nice setup indeed! I also have a simular setup and also found that I need to place a sound damper, (towel), under my Thumler's. My Lortone's are very quiet, but them Thumler's get very noisy. Does anyone have an idea as to what I can place under the legs to keep the vibrations from traveling through the floors? I am moving to a house that has ALL hard wood floors and I know these will be very noisy. Thank you, Harry

Great set-up James. What is it with rocks! They seem to be everywhere. I have rocks in the barn, rocks in the basement, rocks in the kitchen, rocks on the fireplace, rocks in my son's room and of course, rock's in my bedroom. Help me!!!! There everywhere!!!
Harry try placing a piece of carpet underneath them. Or try some dense foam or styrofoam.

OK, I feel bad now. I only have 2 cardboard boxes filled with large ziplock bags of stone (labled, of course) and about 10 bags of "what the hell is this?" fill. I gotta catch up!. The tumbler set up is my dream come true ;D

Hi James . I love your set-up. Is that a 15 lb tumbler the B variety?
What are they worth?
Do they come in 220 volt?
Can't afford them at the moment , but I am Tempted !!!
Is it OK tubling under winter conditions , like near freezing with snow about , like at the moment? We had an inch of rain over night and then an inch of snow to finish off. Jack

Well James your set up is very impressive!! Your bed room is another story!!LOL About 4-1/2 years ago I took "before" pix of my rock shop so that I could show the world the "after"pix. Well the after pix would look more like an "aftermath" and I think I should have left the "before" as it was before I created the "aftermath"!!,,LOL What I like about it the most is the adventure of the search!! "OH WOW,,,,I forgot I had this"!! "OH NO,,,Another rock slide"!! "Where the ^$**@* did I put that &*## scale"? Ain't it great?? Tom

Hey guys, Where did you dig this tread up from? I thought that it was lost in the depths is abyss. Anyhow, that was my "old" setup. I've since then added two more new model B's! I'll post the pics one of these days. As you may have noticed, I haven't been around much lately. Work... The model B retails for about $123-$200. It depends on who you buy from. Kemphs gun shop has the best prices. They come in standard 120 volt. As far as freezing temps go, I don't know, Maybe you could use anti-freeze instead of water? ;D
