Well, that's what it reminds ME of...lol. The cab is from a slab I picked up at a recent rock show. It's metallic like pulsite, but has more copper. Old rockhoud, I wish I had remembered to ask where he dug it up! I got some more silver/quartz silver ore rock, and some with what looked like pyrite inclusions! Eh, who knows, it's very cool. Wrapped in sterling and gold filled.

Nautilus...funny, reminds me of the octopus from 20,000 leagues under the sea. But then again, I've had a very long childhood (I think my kids wish I'd grow up a little more, but the Grandkids don't ;D)
Very cool.

That is spectacular - how on earth do you manage to get wire in to tie the inverted "C" on the right to the structure? I don't see any wiggle room to get wire in there

DEEEE!!!!!!!!! Don't get discouraged over one dudes opinion.. Hell Don't conform because of negativity.. Girl..... You got some wicked skills with that wire.. I took a LONG look at the top.. Your sight on Beauty is a Work of Art.... Not everyone liked Picasso.. so what.. look at him now. bet they be all bummin they find out he's worth more than they make in an entire life time.. dontchya think? .. So there I am.. looking at your wrap.. and I see the fine details you put into that wrap.. down to the very curls.. Girl it's like weaving or sumpthing.. how you do that with wire .. I don't know. my hand would of done been cramping.. you combine two styles that is in a class of it's own.. You were the first one I seen stick two diffent types of rocks together.... and you're the first on that style.. keep thinking outside the box. told ya once before.. you're on to something.. practice will bring it out.. don't stop Your creativity I enjoy the diversity on the board.. That's what rocks is all about right? Keep on wrapping Girl.. do your thang.. ! K?
You know it rocks!

Thanks Tweety, Dr. Joe and Roxy!!! I woke up thinking to delete the pic, and y'all made me feel tons better!!! ((group hug!!)) Rogue, of course everyone here loves rock, and most here do want to see as much rock as possible and to showcase it - I'm a lover of both rock and wire, and want it to meld and be something altogether different so you acknowledge a bit of both, but see it as a whole. Either way, thanks for your opinion too-

I love seeing your work. They are both beautiful but that first one takes the prize. Don't know which one you were going to delete, doesn't matter cause you didn't thus get to enjoy both works of art. ;D

Thank you sitnwrap! That's one thing I love about this board...cause sometimes I look again at things I do again and think 'yikes, is this too far out??' - when I'm doing it, I don't really 'think' about it at all, I just respond. Hmmm, does that make sense?

I like it!! That's alot of wire to make perfect, but you did it. Yep, it's a true masterpiece! I missed the negative comment, he must have deleted it when the prozac kicked in.

Hmmm, does that make sense? Absolutely, I was going to say in my reply that the wire and the stone will let you know whether or not the wrap it right but was afraid others would think me nuts ;D. You do a beautiful job, keep at it!

Beautiful, Dee! YOur ability to concentrate on the small is amazing! I like the sculptural quality of the first and the spare elegance of the second. Bet they'd look good together. Tony

Man Dee, you amaze me all the time!!! Such detail in the Nautilus, if I tried that I would have scrap metal!! You know I am one of your biggest fans, I always love looking at your wraps, I just don't check out the wrapping section very often.
Have a great day and keep em coming..................Tony

I like 'em both Dee... I'm a little bit in awe of the skill it took to make the first one... I tried weaving so I know it ain't easy... hehe... still seems like magic to me... Would be great to actually watch and see how you do that type of wrap.... The 2nd one is pretty sweet too... I really like the layer effect you created from the side wires... great stone in that wrap too! Very nice work! Dan

Hey that's amazing work! What a refined hand and such delicate designs, the embellishment is incredible. I love to see the crafts we all bring to our hobby and your wirework is second to none, that's beautiful!!! ;D Thanks so much for sharing it with us.
The stones are excellent, and the cabs are very nice, I particularly enjoyed the cut and colour of the second one, but the pearls and twizzles on the first wrap make that such an alluring design! Berrrillliantt!! ;D ;D Your talent is both a personal expression and genuinely inspirational. I enjoy it very much.
Cheers,
Sparkles.

Dee: OK, I can't even fathom thinking of making something like that, it is beautiful!!!!!!I love that first one and its nautical theme, and then with the pearls. Heck I can't wrap a simple one, how long does something like that take you? You are such an artist, to even have a vision of where that is going. You are so creative. Amber

Thanks everyone. You guys are all the BEST! It really is what makes this board above all the others such an awesome place to be! <3 Amber, it probably takes me about 6-8 hours, although I'm usually doing more than one thing at a time, so it's hard to be sure how much. I really do love doing all the kinds of wraps! The 2nd stone, I tried doing a curving ridge on the top of the cab. I wish I knew what stone it is: that's the part I need to work on! I just go, "Oooh, pretty rock!" and that's it. lol!

Hey Dee, I'm thinking that the second stone is an Ocean Jasper - those gentle foaming spots in Agate like matrix are quite characteristic of the variety, it's a gorgeous stone. Hope that helps! ;D Did I mention how much I love Ocean Jasper? ;D ;D ;D Thanks for sharing them! Cheers, Sparkles.
