I sorted through The Load yesterday, washed everything off, and took a lot of pics. I hadn't realized just how much stuff I had collected until then. Sheesh! To my surprise, I didn't take anything home that I'd consider a "clunker". It all looks pretty good, even the stuff that I can't identify. Rather than make this thread Hell for those with slow internet connections, and bog-down the forum, I decided to make some slideshows for those who would like to see it all. Here's most of it, minus some goodies and some unidentified stuff: s81.photobucket.com/albums/j222/Michaelooch/12-13-08%20Trip/The%20Pix/?action=view¤t=258d3b4b.pbwHere's something from a little "side trip" that ... if anyone asks ... I didn't make. This IS M*Y*R*I*C*K*I*T*E ... yup, the real McCoy. Yes, I am insane (I know you're asking that). Please DO NOT spell that word in subsequent additions to this thread. Or, as the military themselves say ... "Don't ask, don't tell"... s81.photobucket.com/albums/j222/Michaelooch/12-13-08%20Trip/The%20Pix/?action=view¤t=13e34fe5.pbwI'll be adding a couple more slideshows later, but for now, enjoy! Thanks for looking!

Steve, any time you want, you're more than welcome to come down here and spend some time. I can put you up in my guest room and we can hound til you cry "UNCLE" hehehe. I'll hound in the bitter cold, blazing heat, and everything in-between. No problem filling up your truck with all it can carry back. The only limitation here is rain and snow ... the dirt roads in the desert become muddy and unusable, so ya gotta wait a few days for them to dry out. Otherwise, it's always "all systems GO". Although it's not a "deep freeze" here, it is a little cold in the winter. In fact, we just had the worst snow storm here yesterday that we've had since the 70s! Lemme step outside and snap a couple pics of this... Having lived in Connecticut, Illinois, and Ohio, this is no big deal to me, but I moved out here to get AWAY from that stuff! I'm sure you're used-to much worse, too.

Yeah, Bro, my schedule is pretty much wide open unless I find a "real" job (LMAO that would take an act of God in these parts). Whenever you're ready, just let me know.

Nice haul, MichaelJohn!
For those of us who are uninformed, what makes it insane to gather the stuff that shall remain nameless? Is it on a mil. installation?

You got great looking stuff in that haul. There is one rock that peaked my curiosity so I went and googled info on it. you got yourself beautiful specimens. I hope pics show up when they are slabbed and cabbed or are you going to hang on to it as a keepsake?
We got hit pretty good with snow yesterday and last night so I kind of chuckled at the dusting in your pics.

MJ: Does it glow in the dark? Or expose unopened film? :-)
(yeah, I'm dating myself; nobody knows what film is anymore)

Lori, I don't cab or tumble. I keep some stuff I collect as specimens and/or momentos, but I sell about 99% of what I collect. I'll be putting some of the stuff I just collected up for sale either later today or tomorrow, here in the RTH selling forum.
Chuck, no concerns about any of that LOL. However, I'm interested to see what it looks like with a blacklight shining through Selenite.
