Beautiful! You know, if I was swimming in the ocean and saw that one on the bottom, I would probably think it was some kind of urchin or some kind of fish hiding in the sand. It is really cool looking! Fran

That's a beaut alright! The Green color is spectacular. It reminds me of a Tropical Island you'd find floating out in the middle of the Pacific. Steve

That is gorgeous and the pattern in it is spectacular. Is this how you saw and found this specimen when you were underwater? The reason I ask is that it would seem that you would need some serious knowledge of what you're looking for considering water distorts perception and the debris or aquatic life that may attach to rocks.

Tony: Boy before you started posting your jade pics I thought all the Monterey material was just that old gray green stuff. Now you've posted all these great blues and greens and wow! great color in this piece and I think your polished boulders are a great natural looking way to display jade....Mel

We have some good wreck diving here in the Chesapeake bay, but aside from the sunken ships it's all mud. Those are awesome!!

Thanks tons for adding more pics. That slab in your hand in the 14th pic down, The one with the light green and thin streaks in it, would look awesome on a wall. Now I want to swim in an ocean where the rocks glow. lol.

Hey sharkbait!! Those are Insane! I think the depth in that one is unbelievable! and it does resemble that treky taser gun .lOL.. crazy! But wow the color is sooo intense! Btw.. what do you use to get that shine you got on those ones you sent me? I've tried to bring mine to a shine like that and no go... what's your secret besides mermaid spit..

Roxy, did you do a rough grind first? With jade it is important to go through the sanding throughly because any missed area will show up with a final polish. Polishing jade, each piece is always different but I think the most important trick is to push hard against the polish wheel and get it smoking hot. With whatever paste you are using (I use Diamond) you will start to see a shine eventually. There are different types of hardness too with the jade I collect and many tricks. Post up a photo of the one you are doing and I will try to walk you through it.

Those are nice looking pieces! Jade is one of my favorites, so luckily I too live someplace where high quality pieces can be found ( central Wyoming ).
