I love Fossils as much as I love rocks. That these were once living creatures here on our amazing planet is just mind-boggling for me. I've been to many museums and have seen so many of the dinosaur finds and other phenomenal fossils. What I have pictured here, however, are incredibly tiny fossils. But for me, they are very, very special...I found them myself by teasing them out of a 15-foot tall pile of debris and fossilized detritis. They are the spines from Sea Urchins that once lived in Central Florida about 4 million years ago. I included the dime to give some perspective on their size. Pretty neat, huh? Lady B

Now that is itty bitty size with extra large cool! I know that I would not know what they were, so I wouldn't be able to find them. They are very special. Fran

Very cool Kate! Sea urchin fossil are very neat. We have quiet a few around here, but I've never found any spines. Maybe I haven't had my nose close enough to the ground.
