Here is a "blastoid" fossil,its aged at close to a billion years old.Its a plant that grew in the sea's in prehistoric days. Its stem grew to 12 to 30 feet,it just floated on the seas.......

Very cool ! I've yet to find one of those. Not plant though, but animal, Echinoderms related to the crinoids, urchins, star fish etc. Sometimes confuses folks because some of the stemmed echinoderms are called sea lillies.....Mel
