YiPee! With a huge thanks to BikerRandy for his great tutorial, I finally did a wrap I'm not embarrassed to post a pic of. There are a couple of things I need to clean up, but overall I'm happy with it. Wire is copper and the stone is picture rock that I tumbled a while back. Shine lacks something to be desired, but I do like the shape of it. Back Off to wrap another! llana

WOW!! That turned out sweet!! The quality is not by far that of a first timer, and your design is beautiful!! (honest) You're gonna go a long ways with this, and I'd like to see all of your work

Randy, couldn't have done it with your tutorial. Actually, it's not my very first one, it's the first one I'm brave enough to post! I didn't really have a design in mind, I just bent and twisted when the wire didn't do exactly like that in your tutorial. It was a "create as you go" type thing. All those wires at the top didn't cooperate at all, so I eliminated three of them with the wire cutters. Shannon, I love copper! There is a building I pass that has a copper roof over the front porch. It is beautiful! And they must get out and clean/polish it frequently because it always looks like they just put it up - no patina on it at all. Across the street from my friend's house is a little shop call the "Copper Cactus" and they have all sorts of the neatest copper stuff I've ever seen. If I would have saved the wire from all the ones I messed up when I first started trying to learn a few years ago, I could probably make a giant wire ball. Susan, I don't know which of the wire wraps at Kim's is your first, but I can tell you, it's nothing to be embarrassed about. They are all beautiful. deep, wires on the computer or even electrical wires, I can do! Wire wrapping when one has 5 thumbs on each hand is a bit more difficult! Thanks ya'll!

WTG! this is awesome. It looks like square cooper wire. First time I've seen that. I really like it. Your wrap is super and I'm in awe of those curlies because I find that copper bends and kinks much easier than the silver and you can't straighten the kinks out easily. You did a great job. Yea! another wrapper to post more pics.

Jo, I shaped and then flattened some copper wire to do one of your "snake" bails. It was really neat looking. Then I glued it to the stone and used a clamp so it would stay put while the glue set. Well, it set all right! To the rock and the clamp! Needless to say, when I finally got it all apart, it wasn't so neat looking anymore! ;D
sitnwrap, I love working with copper. I've never had any problem with kinks and such. I "straighten" the wire to keep it from getting kinks.
That is square wire. I got it from Brandywine supply.

LOL. Llana, you can lightly sand off the icky glue with a dremel or mini-sander, if that helps. I stand the stone in a foam ring box (with the slit in the foam). But, as everyone here knows, I have been known to glue my fingers together... LOL. Make sure you post pics. Jo

(not to hijack) Call me silly but I really like the look of a copper wire pendant on a silver chain. Also looks great hanging on a piece of dark leather.
