I had a great day with Jo today. She came over and we talked rocks, while her SO, decided to cab! So she told me she wanted to do a wrap for me!! Yeah!!!! I picked a chrysacolla cab I made a while back that had some issues, thinking the wrap would hide them, and boy did it! It is a super duper wrapped cab thanks to Jo and her handiwork! It was great being together while she worked, because she asked me how I liked it, what I wanted, I felt like the Queen of England getting her crown jewels!! I love it and I am wearing it tomorrow!!! Thank you so much Jo, it is always fun being with you guys, the time just goes to quickly!!! Jo has come so far so quickly with her wraps, she is so dedicated and so creative!!! I hope this gives the other newbies encouragement to keep trying, because perseverance does pay off! Front views Back Thanks again JO!!! You're the best!!! Amber

I was talking to her last night about the binding wraps. That one is perfect, absolutely beautiful work!! It sure doesn't look like a wrap from someone that's only been doing this for a few weeks. What an awesome gift ....also- that cab is sweet, the color is incredible and I love the shape!

Randy- The cab wasn't sweet, it is pretty bad, I have a lot of problems with crysacolla, this was from Jamie, and I love it, but it doesn't love me! I want to try Opticon or something to see if I can avoid the pitting I always seem to get!

Awwww shucks! Well, Amber inspired me to turn this chrysacolla into something that will love her back. After one awesome chocolate espresso martini, somehow my wirewrapping straightened itself out and I was able to produce something that Randy can't pick on me about! LOL. Amber, I loved doing this for you, and hearing what you envisioned it could potentially be and challenging myself to create it! We need to do this more often! Jo

I can't even begin to imagine how you come up with a bail like that. I can't even follow the wires in the photo. I think I better stick to something easier like bails. lol Great job Jo. You wrap so much better than most with your experience.

Wow that is a beautiful pendant Jo wrapped for you. And how could it be otherwise setting the mood for success with chocolatini's, wonderful friend time and an awesome cab to work with. Just doesn't get any better than that.

Amber, I wanted to tell you how good your light box photos are (bottom two). It's now going on my list of needs (which is getting pretty long).

You two make a great team! The cab looks really nice in that custom wrap. It's great to have a good friend nearby to share your hobby.

Jo: The first pic was from the new light box, it was really nice, you got the box, a tripod and 2 lights for $40 from theatlasstore.com, it folds up neatly with a carry case. Well I couldn't get the lights right, so I went back to using Tony's homemade box he made with a hole in the top having my recessed light shine down on it. I think the bottom 2 photos are better. I need phtographic help!!!! Next time we must talk photography! Tony also reminded me that, duh I could put the camera on a tripod to take the pics of slabs and things. But check out the lightbox it is a very nice set for $40! For someone that knows what they are doing! Amber

Wow, really? I like the pics with Tony's lightbox better. Hmmmm... maybe he has a future building these. I'll still check out the one you bought.
Thanks Shannon, Lori and MossyRockhound, it really is a gorgeous cab and I was thrilled to work with it. A mystical stone, isn't that what it was called in another thread?

Well, I can't keep quiet after looking at this spectacularly wrapped cab. WOW, Jo it is absolutely exquisite. I just adore the rose-shape at the top and it is flawless. I come on and look here and there, but don't post as I don't want to sound "dorky", and Randy's the expert in this family but I had to comment on your beautiful work. Also love the colors and the cab work Amber. Cathy

OMG Cathy, I just saw this. Hi. SO nice to meet you. Thanks! The wire finally behaved and I got straightened out on a couple of things I was doing that were messing me up. Your Hubby has been a good friend in pushing me to try harder and get better, and has been hugely tolerant with my endless questions. Looking forward to spring break and the six of us (and Angie) getting together. Hope you hang out and post often, nothing dorky sounding at all! Jo

Jo, It will be good to meet you in the near future, along with your hubby, Amber and her husband and of course Angie . I hope that I can come by here from time to time but life is a bit crazy these days and trying to work through it all. Once again grade "A" work on your wraps and keep them coming. Cathy
