I am working on a large batch of slabs and these are the first I've finished polishing. I have the batch of 60+ all through my 600 grit. For polishing I am using a refurbished 1300 grit diamond belt followed by super-cerium on a suede buff. I got this group polished today. My favorite is the Hampton Butte Jasp-agate. Hope you enjoy.. Man, that is some nice material!!! Where to start?? I think that Morrisonite is the neatest piece I have ever seen! All those orbs and the color! WOW! I also really like the Priday Blue Bed, the Deschutes, and that WWR agate! WOWSA I was just watching that cash and treasures show, she was at WWR looking for red plume agate. The limb cast is neat too, and Woodyrock just sent me some of that Saddle Mtn from WA, his piece was neat too, that should make a killer cab!
The Hampton Butte is something else, wow the color, and it just looks so 3-D! I love that!
Go cab, go cab!!! Amber

Yep! That was one of my favorite places to hunt in the Winter! Dan Kelly told me about that place and Fall Creek. I enjoyed Lookout Point so much. I never found anything quite as cool as that piece you posted here though. THANKS Steve

Holy Moly these are great! I like the one that has cat ears, I think it is the first pridy blue bed one. I don't know how you do it but you sure get some fantastic slabs! Fran

Those are all amazing! Great photos - I've not seen red like that from Hampton Buttes before. I thought Hampton was only known for the green jasp-agate Pet Wood?

I've not seen red like that from Hampton Buttes before. I thought Hampton was only known for the green jasp-agate Pet Wood? Hampton Butte is an amazing area. The collecting zone is vast and I've seen a wide array of materials including limb casts, limb casts with plume, brecciated Jasp-agates and of course the green and sometimes purple banded Pet wood. I met a guy who told me of a huge moss agate seam he found there about a foot under the ground. Apparently he was too far from camp to gather a significant quantity and never was able to find it again. Anyhow, I make a trip there annually. Last year I hit some awesome stuff just off the road and about a foot down. HPD

Wow! that Hampton Butte material is fantastic. I have been there a few times and have found such a variety of materials but nothing that colorful.
