Hi all Here is a chunk of Snowflake Jade I was working on at the same time as the black jade....it's called snowflake jade because of the quartz inclusions in the jade matrix...most people consider it less desireable, but I think it is quite beautiful and unique... This piece responded to polishing better than the black jade which suprises me, snowflake jade is usually a pain to work with and always undercuts...

There is some stuff up on Casper Mtn....the best hunting is on the back side, there is a cool red agate you can find there off the Muddy Mtn. Road. I do most of my rock hunting out in the jade areas and the agate flats northeast of Jeffrey City, and some in the Shirley Basin area. Here's some of the Casper Mtn. Red Agate....these slabs look like a pair of eyes to me....

That's wild looking snowflake jade! Doesn't look anything like the snowflake out of Washington or California. Very cool!....Mel

This particular piece has a lot of quartz and even some mica in it...I've found them with varying degrees of inclusions...
