Here's a tube agate I found at Woodward Ranch in the early 70's. It's a big 7 pounder. Curt

Very cool! I have a few like that we found in my grandfathers collection, I always wondered what they were....do you have any idea how an agate like that is formed?

Nope Mike, Mel is going to have to answer that one. Curt I have heard it was formed from highly mineralized hot springs. We'll see what Mel says.

It almost looks like fossilized sea worms near deep ocean vents! Sweet stuff!

Awesome Curt. You mean there was a time when you collected more than pet wood? ?? I found a smaller version of that last time I was there, only mine is red. So, will we see you there in 2 weeks??

Hey Ed Good to see you playing around on the board more. Yup, I collect more than pet wood, but the pet wood is closer to me than anything else. I'd like to go to WWR again, but it's a lot of gas, a lot of camping money, and $2 a pound for rocks. Guess I better stick around the old home fires, but thanks for asking. Curt

Curt: That is super cool, it looks like a little volcano or something! Your wood is always outstanding! Amber

Real nice stuff. I don't think you can find this stuff in those parts anymore.
Thanks for sharing.
