Great artifacts John. When I was a kid, I had a great arrowhead spot and would find handfulls of pottery shards. A lake now covers the area. Curt

Boy that ax head is really neat. I've seen those found but never found one myself. Fine looking point too. Is that grooved pottery type common where you hunt? Only shards I've ever found were quite simple in comparison and the only decoration was a few were painted.....Mel

Nice finds, the ax head is really unusual with the double groove. You hardly find them like that. I have several ax heads but they are celts, no groove at all. The pottery is a lot more detailed than the pieces found here in Iowa, ours have a pattern of sorts but it appears to be made or applied with braided cord wrapped around a stick or paddle type tool.

You know, I would have been one of those people that would look at the ax head and never know what it was. Thank you for sharing! Fran

Sweet axe. The ornate pottery shards are pretty sweet, too!
