Found this geode filled with botryoidal agate on my hike this afternoon. In this same area were some huge druzy thingees too. Figured I'd bring some back for the garden. This piece is blue/gray agate on the inside. Thanks for lookin....Mel

Cool looking rock. The blue/grey inside must really be pretty.

Does the blue-gray follow into the bubbles or are they clear (or white)?

Rock for the garden eh? Boy, I bet the non-living portion of your garden rivals the living...blooming or not!!! I can imagine the rocks in there. Another nice find!

I usually soak finds like that in Oxalic acid and water. That gets rid of the red iron stains in effect bleaching the specimen without changing it's true color. Fine for Quartz/feldspar and agate specimens. Oxalic acid is also known as wood bleach and comes in a powder that can be found in hardware stores sometimes. It's relatively safe, but care is still needed. Effective at removing rusts stains from concrete if used correctly.

Didn't take you long to find the good stuff there. Cool rock there.
