Found this one yesterday near Mount Saint Helens, Washington. It even looks a wee bit like Mount Saint Helens before the top blew away. I know, I have seen photographs of this crystal before, but could not find one, so I do not know what it is, Unfortuately it has been creek tumbled, but still looks interesting, Woody Here is the creek I found it in.

That really looks like a neat crystal. Could it possibly be some kind of fossil? I have no idea what it is but that stream looks so inviting although I am sure it was a little chilly still. Fran

You have found what is know as a crystal "fan". All the neddle-like crystals radiate from a central point and form a fan. The crystal structure will help narrow you're search because not many minerlas do this.
My guess, it is soft (MH 4, or so) and probably brittle. If I found it on my coast, it would likely be stilbite, one of many zeolite minerals, and Nova Scotia's provincial mineral.
Nice find. Good luck with you're ID.
