Howdy folks, Finally getting the hang of the Ishi stick and making some points I really like. Again, these are all flint from here at the ranch and these are smaller points, the largest being about 2"long. I did the initial shaping by percussion and finished the points with pressure flaking. I'm really pleased with the two pieces at the bottom. Think I'll mount the tan flint point on a bola tie. Thanks for looking....Mel

Points are lookin pretty good there Mel, at the rate your crankin them out you might want to forget the Tie business and start workin up a Hat band The light tan piece and the point right above it are my favorites of the group Harley

Oh Mel, you must be tickled pink with those babies. Especially coming from your property. I like the one on the top-left. Congrats. Jo

On a bola tie???Just don't make any sudden moves or you might get skewered by your point. Other than that, it will look really cool! Fran

Mel, they look great. For the amount time you've been knapping, you sure have a natural ability for it. They are nice to look at.

Those look great Mel! Knapping is yet another thing on my "to try" list. Ishi stick? (sounds like a Japanese shish kabob). I understand you have to heat treat some of the material before you knap it. I don't know if this is true for flint, but it looks like you've got the procedure down, whatever it is. Frane, I think the point goes down on the bola tie Garry
