 thanks everyone! Sponge Bob was just FUN to wrap, it's a marvelously shaped cab, with LOTS of personality!

They've arrived! Yippee! I have a lovely wrap from Nancy, and a great Spiderman jasper cab to play with. Now, where did I set my tools (they're with my camera, somewhere!)...
I'll grab pictures this evening for everyone.

Okay, Okay ..... huh .......
Now I am officially sweating!! BUT ......
Let's see .... Chris is next, then me. Then SitNWrap ..... I am so excited (and nervous) now.
If this vibe batch comes out as nice as it is looking after 4 days straight in 120/220 (it is going into prepolish tonight), I now know what stone I am sending on to her.
I feel the cut I did on it is great. Both pieces of the stone were cut great. Well .... you know me .... I don't know how to make a round cab yet. Oh well!
This is a wicked stone ... I am going to have a really hard time parting with it ... I think it deserves SitNWrap.
It is flashy, it is subtle, it is a busy stone with lots of awesome color!!! Yippeeee!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm done now .... I think .... ;D
Should I be a brat and wait until I send the stone to Lori or give it up? Nah ........ okay maybe .....
Hopefully it will be done by Thursday ... I want a solid 48 hours in each prepolish and polish.

Okay, pictures! Sorry for the poor quality - my cat sat on my lightbox. Yes, it's been so long since I've used it I hadn't checked it over recently. I guess that means I need to get moving! Anyway, here's the pretties I received from Nancy! Her wrap: For me to wrap: I've stared at it awhile and I'm pretty sure I know what I'll do here. Should be finished by the weekend.

Hi cman, Welcome aboard.
You may find more info re: wire gauge, etc. in other threads on this section of wire wrapping. Seems that most in here, who do the groove wrap, use round wire. Those who do the border wrap use square & 1/2 round wire. The gauge & hardness vary due to the artist's preference. I prefer 22 ga square dead soft, but I've also used half hard. Depends on the application.
Hope this helps. Check out some of the other threads & sections on this forum. The people are absolutely the best, & everyone's happy to help where they can.

Great looking cabs and wrap. Welcome cman! We all always forget to mention details! Personally, I use 21 or 22g square, and 18,20 or 21 1/2 round for bindings. Totally depends on the size of the cab-if I feel I need a heavier wire to keep it all together, I'll use 21G and 18 1/2 round for the bindings. kj

Those are gorgeous!
I may be running a little behind as I have had to stop the vibe for a few days. Should be riled and ready by next week.
So please .... no rush!!
As always Julie

I think what I used was a 22g square and 21g gold-copper wire called Nu-Gold for the wrap in this thread. Won't tarnish and has a deeper gold color that accented the wrap well. I use 20g square for groove wraps with 24g half round for the binding. 20, 22 & 24g square for other wraps depending on the size of the stone, with 24g half round for binding. Jo

Ronda, that wrap Nancy sent you is so pretty. What is the stone she sent you to wrap? It looks like something spiderwebby. Julie, You crack me up. Your enthusiasm is contagious.

Hi All!!!!
Just checking in to see where our roaming wire is at.
I have been very lax about practicing and now am under the gun (so to speak).
Plus .... I love seeing all the cabs and wraps as they move along on the journey.
As always ... my humble thanks

Sigh - it's sitting at my house. It's now boxed up, and as soon as I can break away from my computer (work computer - which sits next to my home computer, which is an evil temptation throughout the day), I'll take it to the PO. Really, I was just giving you time to practice, Julie.
