So, here's my first try at wire wrapping. I can see where the bindings aren't straight, the pieces on the front aren't symmetrical but hey! I did it! After countless tries that bombed I'm pretty pleased that I got it done at all. ;D So, constructive criticism is most welcome. How doyo twist the wires to make the bail without skewing the whole top of the wrap? I swear my bindings were even up until that point. Well, it can only get better, right? Rebecca and the back....

Rebecca, love the design. What kind of wire were you using? I find that square is the easiest to handle - it stays in place better while you're wrapping it. Round is a real pain because it keeps shifting inside the wraps.
All in all, you did a great job for a 1st time. Keep it up.

That turned out great Rebecca, no constructive criticism from me though, I think your better at that style of wrap than I am.

Awesome first try! You've got the knack for this for sure, and they'll keep getting better.

Rebecca: I gave up even trying! This is a wonderful wrap, and the back is so nicely finished you could wear it either way! Great job, you are going to be a great wrapper!!!

Beautiful wrap! You certainly are tallented! I like the back too, in fact if you ask me I'd set the back as the front. It's pitty those nice curls to be hidden and besides, if they are on the back they might get tangled in the blouse.

Thanks! I used half round wire for the wrap. Randy, I used your tutorial to do this. I really appreciated the step by step instructions and photos.

That is an incredable first wrap and your natural talent is obvious. My only suggestion, hang on to any scraps of wire as they come in handy and you can sell them back for more wire.
Looking forward to seeing more.

Rebecca-great job! I like the top scrolls. You won't be able to twist half round very well-that's where using square works out better for you. But, twist the wire after you've bound the bail and you should't have a problem. Also holding the bail area with flat nose while your're twisting will keep the twisted portion contained. Is this GF or brass wire? In either case, it looks great with this stone!

The white balance is a bit off in my photos but I was usinf half round half hard gold filled 20 gauge wire. Rhanks for all the great feedback! It feels good to know my first attempt isn't half bad...... ;D

That is a FABULOUS firstie!!! Way to go...yeppers, it's all up hill now. ;D After you have all your wires binding the stone in...grab them and get them together evenly....TAPE them with scotch tape (I bend over the end of the tape to make a tail for easy unwrapping). Then bind the wires together by going a few rounds....bend the back wires for the bail (bail pliers are awesome for this)...and continue to bind all the wires together including the wires you just bent down. That's how I do it.

Thanks for the feedback! It sure feels good. KD, thanks for the compliment on my kitty cat. His name is Leo but he's the prissiest cat I've ever seen so we called him Foo Foo as a joke. It stuck. ;D
