Hi all, just posted another wire wrapped pendant on the blog, this time it's one the golden Labradorite cabochons I made recently, this is the larger of the 2 free forms I made at that time. I would really appreciate all comments, both good and bad as this is the bigest cab I have ever wrapped and it was a challenge. Also if any you are into selling your finished items I would appreciate it if you could give me an idea of what you would charge for an item like this. All details about dimensions, wire used and weight are on the blog post. www.roughrocks.co.uk/?p=266Many thanks guys Dave

It would be nice if you could see the whole piece. Part of it is cut off by ads. From what I can see, I would charge $40-50. Most all of mine run $25-40. Also, why not just post a picture on here -- blogs get popups that you don't want to see. Ken

Ken Hi Ken, thanks for your comments, I don't understand why you are getting pop ups or ads as I only have google ads at the foot of my posts, anyway I have put a direct link to the item here, hope it works:

The wrap is really great looking. I love the look of the 1/2 round binding covering most of the wire along with the bail that you did. Just a beautiful wrap and beautifully done.

classy for sure....good looking rock...and great wrap job. i like how the half round makes it fuller, but still doesnt take away from the stone.

Thank you, this is the style of wrapping I prefer to do because it keeps the focus on the stone and doesn't take the eye away to the wrap, my wife does the more elaborate wraps and yes they are lovely but I prefer to keep it all simple - bit like me really!
Cheers

I love the simplicity which is really not simple but it sets the stone up beautifully and what a gorgeous stone. Great work.

Rusty Rusty, my aplogies that it's taken me so long to get these pics done for you it's just been a hectic year, anyway here you go: This the toe as you call it, the four wires that go around the whole cab, two are just shaped to follow the contour of the cab and the other two are bent outward to hold the cab in place. Have also incuded two more below of the fron and back of the bail area: This the front and this is the back: all the best Dave

I find that the darker lab is much more rewarding than the lighter stuff. Also while I am here can you tell me do you have a vibro lap and what's your largest saw blade, reason I ask I have had a few people ask me to do work for them lately but I don't have the equipment nor am I likely to due to this darned recession. Anyway let me know and I might be able to put some work your way if you want it. Cheers Dave
