Fossil,
If you could find those in quantity, you could have a heck of a market in the Mountain Man circles ! Those guy's are into old skulls of every kind to hang on their Tee-Pees and on poles outside their doors. Some of them paint Native American designs on them !
The wife, (bless her little heart ) just ordered a damn Bison skull from a guy in Wisc. near where we have our old fishing shack. It was in a beer joint and she had consumed SEVERAL Mikes Hard Lemonades . After we left the place I ask her WHAT she planned on doing with it and, she replied that she was going to Scrimshaw on it and set it on the T.V. set. She just started doing Scrimshaw and I found her a couple Bison leg bones and a couple horns to practice on.
She has NEVER seen a Bison skull and has NO idea how big they really are (heh-heh-heh !)
Only pictures on the computer !
I am going to keep the camera handy to get a pic. when the crate shows up on the porch !
My apologies for hijacking this thread but just had to give everyone a heads up on a REALLY funny story soon to be !

Harley - if you rig up a harness for the skull, she could wear it for halloween.

I live in cattle country and do parttime work for a few of these ranchers. If I knew for a fact, that I could make a few coins selling those cow skulls,I would gather a trk load up. Sometimes I can get the bull skulls too, some of those are huge!!! I do have two buffalo skulls(not for sale) and a handfull of horns from the buffalo during the 1700 to 1800's...........(they are huge too).... I also have a few steer skulls that I would unload for some horsetrading..........
