Awesome Agates Steve! Thanks for sharing! Makes me want to pack up the family and head up there for a weekend this summer!
I'm wondering, what is the average size of these?

Marie: You just might! Mel: I hear ya. It's a love/hate relationship! But I suppose almost everywhere has it's indoor season so to speak. I can tell you that for me, 100 degree's plus may as well be 30 below. Except at 30 below I can still put good clothes on and be active to stay warm. At 100 plus, I can only get so naked in the shade laying around. ;D Just kidding though... the older I get, the more cold and shoveling suck! I need to figure out a way to avoid both extreme indoor seasons... and not have to deal with tornado's, earthquakes, too many people etc.!!! Nate: These all are between a 1/2 lb and I think the biggest is the 3rd from last at a 1-1/2 lbs. Most are 3/4 to 1lb.

Excellent color! You gotta like living in a place where the rocks are more colorful than the trees in the fall!
How far do you have to roam to acquire these pieces?

 Thanks for sharing Steve! If it wasn't so dang cold, I'd move up there just for the Lakers! It's currently 7 degrees here at 1:15am. I'm dreading going to the grocery store tomorrow. The forecast is for a balmy 20 degrees! Later, jeri

Those are so bright they glow. I think I would have to keep those intact. I am one of those I don't want a piece of the rock I want the whole rock. I am a specimen collector. Ken doesn't like it unless you can cut it, we don't always agree on the fate of some rocks. Donna

Dang Steve! I wanna party with you! I've never found any that big. Those are beauties and not a quartz bomb (snowball) among them.
I had a couple of rocks that I picked up off of the shore last winter, but they turned out to be duds. I'll have to post some pics so maybe you can help identify them.

Thanks all!
Elementary: Within a 30 mile radius of Duluth except for the first one was found at Marie's, a little over 100 miles from here.
Chuck: I remember when you found those rocks! Sure go ahead and post them and I'll take a stab at it.

Wow, those are some righteous agates. If I ever found something like that I think I'd wear the whole thing on a necklace.
