This morning's snow wasn't that bad, a few inches at the most. Thought I'd share the walk that Angie and I took immediately following the last blizzard at 11 PM, just after the snow stopped. Not a soul was in sight in the neighborhood. The front of our house (blurry, I was getting my light adjustments right) This is what our street looked like. Angie got to walk off leash. It was an experience of complete peace and silence. Angie was happy and took a roll in the snow. Dawn the next morning looked like this. You can hardly tell our table apart from the rest of the deck. Then the slow melt began and created some monster icicles. No need to worry about us, we were warm and cozy inside. When I asked Billy what he wanted for Valentine's Day, he answered "A Heart", so I gave him this Red Jasper, the biggest I had made (3" high and 2" wide), and it is wrapped in black and silver coated aluminum wire. It's not a pendant, but rather something to hang over his bureau. First pic is with flash, second is without. The heart is sitting in the snow. Angie and I visited a neighboring street where some parents had made a mini-louge track that was about 50 yards long. Haha, it didn't go 90 mph, but the kids were having a blast! I know this has no comparison to our poor dear friends in AZ who are recovering from ravaging storms and overturned chars, but I hope you enjoyed getting the flavor of our little blizzard. Jo

Beef, that's the thirty-some inches of crystallized moisture that all the good rocks are buried under!

Jo, you have created some wonderful rock works during this winter, but I hope warm weather is coming soon for you. Donna

Jo, those photos are amazing. They should be hung in a photo gallery. There is nothing like the sound of silence in a blanket of snow. Boy did you capture the essence of that.
Thanks for taking us along on your walk.

Just as long as you don't fall in a snow bank and pass out and become a Sands-cicle, Sands, LOL. Hey Sands, do you remember what it felt like to get snow down your boots? Randy I know, look at the look on her face. Donna, boy you said it. More snow to come next Monday, don't know how much yet. We've had some interest in the house, the last four inquiries asked if we would settle in 30 days. We told them that we need more time because our RV is snowed in. Thank you for that comment, creating in new ways has helped curb my rock fever. Wow Lori, really? I wonder what they would look like printed and framed. Thought they would make good Christmas cards at least. The walk was really something special, Sands said it when he said that everything feels "clean".

You can send some of that here, our winter is pretty bad. I haven't even bought a sticker for my sled yet, not enough snow to go ride, and what show we have is pretty unstable.
Love those pics, you got some good shots!

Those are great pictures. Some of them almost look surreal. I too like the snow at night when everything seems to be so quiet and clean.

You see, there are those who don't like the snow, and there are those who like the snow... and then there's Tony! Not having snow to Tony is like not having rocks. Well, almost. LOL.
Tony, wish I could have shared this with you, you sure deserve a good ride for all the good deeds you did making sure all who wanted to share in the Burro Creek goodies, could.
Thanks Susan, yep, as long as you have good protection, fresh snow is wondrous.

Jo, you should be able to get some really nice Christmas cards for this year from this series!!
Me, I love snow, but not when it buries my house, only when I go to it, and come back to where it is not. I still remember trudging to school in Canada and NOT being able to see out of the footpath. It was like walking in a big white ditch. Oh, I was much shorter then, LOL Woody

As beautiful as that is Jo, I still am glad I don't have to live in it. I think everyone can agree the quiet that snow brings is wonderful. The thing I can't believe is how the electric companies keep the electricity on. Our little snow we had knocked out the power for 16 hours. Curt

Curt, we were real lucky this time and kept our power. Neighbors behind us in the woods are on a different grid and lost theirs for a day due to a downed tree that took a wire with it. They come along and trim trees and branches a couple times a year to prevent as much as they can. I remember an ice storm years ago where we were out of power for 3 days and were lucky to be able to piggy-back to our next-door neighbor's generator to keep our freezer full of meat going. Jo

Jo: Beautiful pictures, I was so disgusted with it all I couldn't think about the pictures, but Bobby and I did have fun in it, heck it is still here! LOL. I love the pic of Angie in the street, she is such a doll. It is a different feeling all that snow, and thank goodness for good neighbors and men with snow blowers, LOL. Bobby is loving the icicles, everywhere we go he checks them out, this is really the first good snow he could enjoy in the last 9 years.
