I love those teeth. I have almost 100 of them, from some 5.5" across! I also have a fossil that has hundreds of them in the fossil itself! It weighs almost 100lbs. I collect shark teeth, and rarely sell tem.

I'm not parting with it either!

For the novices out there tip to tip measurement times 10 equals approximate length of shark. The one pictured was close to 40'. As they say, "you're gonna need a bigger boat..."

Another tidbit for those who are interested in shark teeth, Megs and other larger teeth are always measured on the "slant height". They are measured along the side from tip of the lobe to the tip of the tooth, measuring whichever side is longer. I live near the meg capital of the world, along the coast of S.C. There are dozens of scuba divers in the rivers of coastal S.C. and parts of coastal Georgia, and a few make their living collecting and selling the teeth. They also find lots of other fossils, marine and terrestrial, from epochs ranging from the Oligocene to the Pleistocene.

I've always wanted some of those. Hey Vance, anyone selling online that you know of? Where would be a good place along the coast to find some for sale? I'm just north of Charlotte so not far away...

Chromenut, There are lots of sites sellling megs. Just type in "megalodon" in google search engine and you will see what I mean. But some of the best buys are on eBay. There are so many divers selling their goods there that you can find some great deals.

Very cool! I used to find them in the phosphate mines down in Bartow, FL. I had a box of them, left them with my mom when I joined the Navy in 82.

I did the same Randy, back when I was younger. The new owners of the mines ...Mosaic wont allow anyone in there nor can the employees fish the pits like they used to. That was one of the best benifits of working for the mones was the fossils and fishing. I`m in Plant City on the other side of lakeland and we have some good mine areas south of town
