Howdy folks, Nice weather now so I've been doing a lot of hiking around here on the ranch. I seldom find anything except broken knife sections but occasionally I find something recognizable. It's always cool to find the base of a projectile point because that's the principal means of identification. Here are re few recent pickups, all archaic period stuff which seems to be the most common here, about 2500 to 4500 years old. The atlatl dart was used for a long time here in this part of Texas and all the projectile bases in this pic are dart points. Local arrowheads are quite tiny....Mel
