Making more plugs and I've actually sold some ;D. Sort of exciting to actually make, sell and have people tell you they like your work who are not one of your friends or family! (even from 20 somethings with big holes in their ears) They don't look so nice in the little plastic bags but they look ok out, especially in the sun. The last one is that rainbow obsidian in the sun. little pits in the obsidian, picture makes them look worse than they are

Very cool !!!! I had my ear stretched to a 0 gauge once ..... but Iam in my 30"s ... I have had it out now for 4 years ...okay Iam 34 .. but after seeing these I might just stick one back in because it hasnt closed fully yet and from what i hear it never will unless i do surgery ... but after seeing these I am thinking of one with a crystal druze pocket, seriously nice work ... and very imaginative ,,, these kids who like it very well will be the next rockhounds one day and Iam living proof ...

Dang Tim, you don't mess around, seems like you were just telling me about this idea. Maybe I should do this, another way to wear more cabs, LOL. They look really good! That rainbow obsidian is very cool! Amber

Thanks Greg, Before I started I was trying to figure out from your picture if you wore plugs so I could ask you about them. The past couple months I've worked out the most efficient way to make plugs with the equipment I have. It's been fun talking to the guys at the tattoo shop who are my "consultants." They've been a big help advising on the tricky flair so it's just right. They are all sporting my trial productions . You might be right about making rock hounds out of them. They've never seen the materials I've been using and have lots of questions about where the rocks are from. I've been doing mostly obsidian's because it's easier to learn on. Can't wait to see there expressions when I break out some nice crazy lace or better jaspers. Thanks Amber, time does fly! If I wasn't traveling for work so much I probably could have made more. If you want I'll drill a hole in one so you can wear it as a pendent .

Neat stuff Tim!! Do you sell these online? Occasionally I get asked to make stone plugs but I don't really want to.. lol... would be great if I could just direct them to you..

I think these are a great idea Tim, and they look great! It's one more way for the kids to be different. And it sure doesn't hurt educating people about rocks in any way possible.

Hi Dan, I don't have a website yet but I'm thinking about putting one together near the end of summer once life slows down. They are just in a couple of the local tattoo shops. I'd be happy to do yours or anyones custom work. I'm charging probably 20%-30% under anything I've seen online (except Chinese stuff) and I'd give back a referral fee as well. Nate, talking rocks with one of the tattoo artists might lead me to a precious stash. His grandfather passed away several years ago and he was a life long rock hound. He said that behind the old house is ton's of rocks that granddad said was worth thousands. He also said there's also bunch of old rock equipment in the barn. He's going to have me over to take a look

I checked into a plug making business for my son to have at one time. It is not an easy thing to do and you must have skills to make them so precise. You are certainly evolving into a world class stone carver Tim:). And you seemed to find a much needed niche:) Wishing you contined success and enjoying seeing your journey:)

Thanks Guys and I'll let you know if and when I get a site. Great to see you Moondragon! If your son changes his mind about making them let me know. They are sort of tricker than they appear and you need to have some specialized equipment/tools but if I can figure it out than probably any monkey could too .

Sounds like you may have happened on an awesome score with the rocks and equipment, Tim! Good luck looking in the barn!

Your work with these are amazing. I kind of quiver thinking of holes that size in the ears and then plugging them but what a great way to display the art. Both in the stretching and the stone. Since you are thinking of places to sell these, when I first saw your plugs, I immediately thought of the retail store Hot Topic. It's just a thought.
