Well not really, but I had an idea for more "manly" stones to wear. I am looking for other ways to wear them besides wire wraps. I was out shooting my .40 Smith & Wesson last week and had this idea. I wasn't sure how it would turn out, so I just grabbed a chunk of wonderstone since I have so much of it. I don't care for the color combination, but it got the job done. I was afraid it would turn out looking like a lipstick, any thoughts on that? These could be made in any caliber and used as key fobs or pendants. I suppose to make it easier I could use the whole spent casing and make the cab shorter to mimic the bullet more but I wanted the stone to be the focal point. Anyway, enough rambling. Here's the pendant: Here's a top view showing how I drilled out the primer and put a simple bail in the hole. The square wire is just bent over inside the case so it can swivel. Thanks for looking, I hope you like it. Nate

Super neat Idea Nate! I think it looks great. I would love to see one made from Biggs or Deschutes. I think these would sell very well. Steve

I don't care for the color either, but great work. I like Steve's suggestions. Malachite would work well with brass I think.

Thanks guys, and yeah, I was thinking the browner jaspers or green would go good too. Even obsidian.. I bet blue or purple would look good too. Pfft, maybe anything other that what I used lol!

I really like how that looks! I have got to admit though that my first thought was Avon trial size lipstick without the lid. Such a cool idea to do the bullets. I am looking forward to seeing your next one! Fran

LOL, thanks Fran. I asked my wife if it looked like a lipstick and she just looked at me weird. Then I said it's not supposed to look like one, and she said she thought it did... Maybe a more pronounced point will do the trick.

Great idea. You should do one in red jasper and cut the point at an angle. Then slip it in your wifes purse. Don

Terrific idea Nate! I'm thinking psilomelane would make one heck of a cool bullet.

Please don't use red, that would certainly look like a lipstick. I think some brown petrified wood would be very masculine, actually anything in the browns would work. I love the idea. You did a great job. Tanya

Nate! That is exactly what I thought too, lipstick, LOL But I think the idea is cool, and the craftsmanship is great. Manly material will have that looking more phallic instead of like lipstick, LOL

hopefully not TOO phallic. wouldn't want someone to think you were walking around with a sex toy around your neck.

Very cool design. I think short pink stone for lipstick, long, very long pet wood stone for bullet. Boy you made a great creation.

Thanks everyone! LOL I love the comments! I'll look through my rock pile and figure something else out to put in there. I just have the stone friction fit, so I should be able to get it out to replace it.

C'mon Mike, live a little. Real men wear pink, LOL! Funny thing is, I'm colorblind and thought it was a bland gray! I never would have done it with that stone if someone told me it was pimk LOL!

I hear the magazine Rock and Gem is looking for interesting material for their Craftsman of the Month award. Send it in and see how they like it.

Cool Idea! If you want manly then try to make the stone look like a wadcutter hollow point! That will give it some stopping power!
Great job.............Tony
