I finally finished a bronze medallion...I'm sure I spent about 20hours on it so it is definitely a labor of love. A present for Mom who can appreciate hard work and time. It's a variation of a cast and forged medallion in June's Lapidary Journal Jewelry Artist. Started with bronze sheet, cut a circle, drilled equidistant holes around the edge, etched lightning bolts (or tree branches, if you prefer) radiating outward from the center. Dapped it into a dome shape and added a twisted wire pair border. The border is a very heavy gauge copper/bronze twisted pair. It was soldered together and formed on a round tapered mandrel. I tried a few different cabs for the center and liked this one, which I believe is ironstone (comes with tigers eye?) in a silver bezel. I formed the bail and attached with a silver rivet. Getting the wire border to fit and the bail to conform to the medallion took a lot of time. Decided on a 3mm leather cord charlie

Your metal smithing skills are HIGH! That bi-metal twised wire looks so even, surely not an easy task.
Beautiful pendant!
